This machine has “Ski” in its name - shouldn’t the workout at least to some degree resemble what you actually do with the poles in XC? Or what’s the point of this?
@Fuzzball Жыл бұрын
This is the proper technique as Concept2 teaches it. If you want to learn Skierg technique for xc skiing, find "CXC Academy" videos on KZbin.

Just got a cheaper air runner. I've only put 5 minutes on it but it seems like its difficult to get it started without pushing off using the rails. also it doesn't seem to run much after getting off it slow down really fast.

Not sure butterflying leads to less consistent strokes. If you are consistently butterfly returning, each stroke will be the same?

I notice my assault trainer's rubber track is not centered, bought it brand new, the gap on the right side is bigger than gap on the left,is it normal or defect? Cheers, I am in new Zealand.

Bought one of these for my blind grandmother who just wants to be able to go on walks, safely. Motorized units were too risky for her situation. She loves the Assault Runner.

Nice! I would also check out the new model that just came out. I think they removed the handles for safety purposes.

This "proper technique" might be fine for some other training, but what is taught her is totally wrong for training for Nordic skiing. In fact, this is almost damaging advice for a Nordic skier. This is so scary wrong that a caveat should be posted. Pure and simple damaging information. We haven't skied that way in fifty years. Personally, I do not know what this approach would benefit. This is called a SKI ERG for a reason. It should be used to help skiers improve their technique and develop the muscles used in that sport. This is not a JockERG to be used to develop bulk. This is just disgusting. Both of these men need some serious training on specificity.

"Proper" form? For what? (This certainly does not look like an actual cross-country ski movement) To avoid injury? To get in shape? To generate more power? In the latter case, who cares? Dubious.

Why not go heavy on these? The more spinal stability and motor control we can create, the more optimal our performance and health will be. I see way too many coaches trying to incorporate bird dogs with light weight. If you can't bird dog row the same weight (or at least 80-90%) you perform traditional bent-over dumbbell/kettlebell rows with, then there is faulty spinal alignment and movement aberrations taking place in your pulling. Yes, of course, start light, get the technique down, but then load this up!

DO NOT BUY - Our Air Runner makes way more noise than this, shakes and rattles when used, and has over 100km on it already. Technician has been sent twice to try and fix machine without luck. I have emailed the man in this video over 20 times as well as other representatives from Assault Fitness and they are unwilling to help. Now that they can't fix it, Assault Fitness is denying there is anything wrong with treadmill.

These are all incredibly loud. It doesn’t sound loud in the video because it’s being used in a large area, the camera microphone is adjusting volumes as they spike, editing software is also managing volume. Hes almost yelling when he’s using it. When I’m at the gym working out next to someone using these, they are shockingly loud.

Isn’t it better to land on your heel to absorb shock for your knees?
@1brunner6993 жыл бұрын
NO!
@thegrannyringmtb18183 жыл бұрын
Nike shoes added heel rise and messed up evolution and biomechanics. Your foot, arch etc is a beautiful shock absorber and propulsion system ... the heel is not. If you’re interested I recommend the book ‘born to run’. It got me into running and also explained an awful lot!
