Soul Calibur Hwang was a little better than Soul Blade Hwang. They removed the Silent Step move he & Mitsurugi had but I think they should gave him 2 different stances in replacement of that

Which version was tournament standard? I know netplay does GameCube emulated now these days, but were tournaments held with the PS2 version (mainly guessing PS2 due to it outselling the other two consoles)?

Get Maxi out of here. Li Long fell so Maxi could rise and its not even a fair exchange. I loved how raw, authentic and powerful he was, not like the Bruce-Lee clones to follow after him.

I always felt that Li Long has the smoothest transitions from move to move. Why did you put all those confusing inputs on the screen? 214b means absolutely nothing to anyone who is playing on a PS1, 2, or 3.
@theonewhowrotethis56812 жыл бұрын
Fans of the series uses numbers for motions and letters for Attack/Guard Buttons. It's a common way to allow people who use different controllers and systems to share combo and move info while being controller/system agnostic. If someone was emulating Soul Edge on an emulator while using an Xbox controller, then using PlayStation notation would have them be confused. Furthermore, the letters are used in-game, so it's not useless as the game does it too. Treat the numbers as if you're looking on a number pad. 1, 4, and 7 are away, 2, 5, and 8 are neutral, and 3, 6, and 9 are towards. From there, 7, 8, and 9 are up, 4, 5, and 6 are neutral, and 1, 2, and 3 are down. So, 1 would be down-back, 6 is forward, 8 is up, 3 is down-forward, and so on. 5 is rarely used if at all as it's implied that you're not doing anything with the stick anyways. In addition, games like Tekken use * to denote that the stick should be returned to neutral before going to the next motion, so 5 is almost never used anyways (though I think some places use 5 to denote neutral for Soulcalibur games while others stick to Tekken's * input). Horizontals are A, Verticals are B, Kicks are K, and Guard is G. The Soul series has remained a 4 button fighter throughout its entire existence, but the other buttons are usually used as macros for combined buttons (i.e., someone can bind R1 to do A+B and R2 to do A+K, for example). For example, 214B corresponds with pressing down, then down-back, then back, and then the vertical attack button (Street Fighter would have it be QCB+Vertical). B would correspond to Triangle on PlayStation, Y on Xbox, Dreamcast, and GameCube, X on Switch, or whatever button you bound vertical attacks to, so saying B eliminates the confusion as you know what kind of attack button triggers the attack. The order matters too as games like Soulcalibur II have 6B be different from B6 (one you press the direction before the vertical button while another has you press the vertical button before the direction). Square Braces are usually used to show that you're supposed to hold an input. So [B] means to hold the vertical button instead of tapping it. Plus characters mean to press two buttons simultaneously. So, 2A+B means to press down and then press the horizontal and vertical buttons at the same time. For directions and button combos, 6B is equivalent to 6+B in most scenarios. The simultaneous presses are pretty lenient when talking about frame data. If you see a period (.) or colon (:), then it needs to be a Just Frame. A Just Frame is where you have perfect timing. For example, 6:B means that you need to press forward and vertical simultaneously on the same frame. Other uses of it mean that you need to perfectly time button presses on the correct frame of animation. Usually these inputs get you nicer versions of existing moves. In the case of this game, Critical Edges require that you press the final button combo at the correct frame(s) of the animation to get a proper extension to the combo. Commas are sometimes used to denote separate attacks within a sequence, but they're not required (though commas make it easier to read). So, AAK = A,A,K. Using a tilde (~) is used to say that one attack sequence can link into another in a combo. So, you can say that 3B ~ 2A+B in a game like Soulcalibur II means that you used a down-forward vertical attack to launch the character and followed it Lowercase letters indicate a slide input, which means that you press the lowercase button one or two frames (it varies by game) before pressing the next button. so 236bK means to do a quarter circle forward, briefly press vertical, and then immediately press kick while letting go of vertical. The more rewarding moves are usually locked behind slide inputs. Tekken nomenclature is sort of similar, but the numbers and letters are swapped. Attacks are 1, 2, 3, and 4 (Square, Triangle, Cross, and Circle on a PlayStation controller) while directions are abbreviations (df = down-forward, u = up, * = return stick to neutral, etc.). If you want more info on this, look up the Numeric Annotation System. It's used everywhere.
@theonewhowrotethis56812 жыл бұрын
Also, FC usually refers to From Crouch (so while Crouching), WL refers to While Landing (so around the moment you're about to touch the ground), BT is Back Turned, and WR is While Rising (so during the animation when transitioning from Crouch to Standing when you let go of a downward hold). CH also refers to Counter Hit (when you hit an opponent while they're attacking). Sometimes stances are abbreviated too (like Raphael's Preparation 1 is abbreviated as P1, Sophitia's Angel Step is AS, Siegfried's Side Hold is SH, and so on). It usually depends on context. Also, underscores act as OR. So, saying 22_88A means double tapping down or up and then pressing the Horizontal attack button. There are other symbols and notations. 8-Way Run has better explanations overall.
@jimmyrodriguez56702 жыл бұрын
@@theonewhowrotethis5681 you just wrote a book, edited it, wrote another book, then edited that. The game has abkg and directions already done. Just extra work is what I meant. Thanks for taking the time, but I could never waste my time reading all of that when you are essentially making it unnecessarily complicated.
@theonewhowrotethis56812 жыл бұрын
@@jimmyrodriguez5670 The general gist is that Numerical Notation is used everywhere for fighters. You can't expect someone to just use PlayStation buttons just because you don't want to learn Numeric Notation like everyone else in the Soulcalibur community (that and the game has used ABK for movelist notation ever since the series' inception). Literally every other moveset video on this channel and most other moveset lists on KZbin and various other websites use the 1-9 ABKG notation for the Soul series. You also have the option to change your controls in this game, so keeping it written as 214B prevents those who changed configurations from getting confused. Saying Triangle to someone who swapped Guard and Vertical would have them try to do the motion before pressing guard until they realized that they actually need to hit cross instead. Saying B makes the notation console and config agnostic as people will say "Oh, I need to do a Vertical here!". You'll benefit a lot if you take the time to learn the notation.
@theonewhowrotethis56812 жыл бұрын
@@jimmyrodriguez5670 But yeah, 214B is very easy to understand. Literally anyone who takes 5 seconds to learn the notation will understand that it's the equivalent of a QCB+Vertical.

Hwang Sung Kyung can have Blue Thunder in this while also needing Falcon Dive Kick & Life Extinguish as his throws alongside 2ed back throw so Blue Storm can be given to Demuth Beelzebus Halteese
@blakenapier31253 жыл бұрын
This should be Hwang Sung Kyung's fighting style stance front throw & back throw & weapon in Soul Blade Soul Edge, (Soul Calibur 1) including his voice in Japanese again from Soul Blade Soul Edge, (Soul Calibur 1) on Playstation 1 & Xbox 160 & Soul Calibur 1 (Soul Calibur 2) as well including his own voice in America in Soul Calibur 2 (Soul Calibur 3) Soul Calibur 3 (Soul Calibur 4) Soul Calibur 4 (Soul Calibur 5) Soul Calibur 5 (Soul Calibur 6) & Soul Calibur 6 (Soul Calibur 7) also be in unfinished games as Main Character again in Canonical Storylines
They need to make Hwang Sung Kyung a Playable Character in the Main Canonical Storyline in Soul Calibur 3 on Playstation 2 & Xbox 260 you know this original old version not Arcade Edition no backwards compatible forget about updates screw upgrades fuck remakes & remasters and the hell with reboots so he needs to have this stage back in this game for the 2ed time he needs to have a storyline with Seong Myeong Horiane Shueroe & Seung Mina to appear in half of Endings his Destined Battle can be Seong Myeong & he can be Arthur Roskie's also he needs the Fighting Style Stance & Moves from Assassin in Soul Calibur 2 also his Voice fully dubbed in English by Someone & his Voice fully dubbed in Japanese by Wataru Takagi and his Taunt from Soul Calibur 6 same goes for Li Long by Someone in English & Jin Yamanoi in Japanese Olcadan & Chester Hotchkiss needs to be Selectable in Soul Calibur 3 instead of being Unlockables
