My favorite Bach harpsichord piece. Been listening to different recordings of this for 30 years now and it never gets old. A wonderful performance.

I missed the live stream, but I really enjoyed the performance anyway. Thank you for sharing some of the story of the meaning of this music for you; that was very moving, and enhanced the subsequent listening experience. I love the balance between musicality, expression and precision in your playing, and will never cease to be amazed at the way that musicians as accomplished as you are able to play a piece as extensive and complex as this one without reference to the music - astonishing. Thank you.

I've had the hardest time finding a performance of this song that's not by an oversized ensemble with poor intonation, slathering everything with vibrato that makes it hard to even hear what the notes are. This choir is lean, agile, expressive without sentimentality, and their intonation is razor sharp. This is the authoritative recording as far as I'm concerned.
