the Tuscon Roadrunners are said to be moving to Reno when the Reno arena is built that is if ever gets built with that Owners track record
@UtahHockeyDNA20 сағат бұрын
Right?! Fair point there. They are 0-3 so far in getting their hockey team a home.

The only problem with the game was the Delta Center, specifically the terrible sight lines. Other than that it was awesome.
@UtahHockeyDNA20 сағат бұрын
Thank you for the comment. Yes it is terrible, but temporary. SEG didn’t expect to get a team this quickly and the nhl knew the limitations of the arena before they came to Ryan with the proposal. Still beats playing at AZ State though right?

UHC will because they have down to earth athletes. NBA has a bunch of spoiled, egotistical multimillionaires.

Basketball players are much different people than hockey players that’s for sure. I feel like most of the hockey players play because they truly love the sport and play with passion and purpose. Most basketball players play because they realize it’s their gift and chance to make generational wealth. Fewer NBA players every year play because they truly love the sport. Utah Hockey Club will have a much easier time attracting top talent, and hockey relies less on talent than basketball, and hockey relies more on team chemistry and individual effort than basketball. So, in hockey, it is easier to win without the top talent. Plus, Salt Lake City is more of a natural hockey city than a natural basketball city. So, the Utah HC will have an easier time attracting top talent than the Jazz ever will.
@UtahHockeyDNA19 күн бұрын
Totally agree, SLC is a winter sports city and it just feels like its more hockey than basketball. I think they will find some success attracting good solid players and ultimately winning a championship before the Jazz do. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

Huge signing. One of the best NHL defenceman. Good move by Utah. Utah has plenty of young players. They can afford to give away a few youngsters and draft picks for a still-young top talent and double-Stanley-Cup winner like Sergachev.

The primary development will come from the Tucson Roadrunners. Meruelo still owns the Roadrunners and is currently in development for a new hockey arena in Reno. The Roadrunners currently have a 2 year lease in Tucson with an optional 3rd year. I have a feeling that the Roadrunners will move as soon as the new arena is done. With the NHL you will have prospects in several different leagues. That is why you have the affiliate links in the ECL and will probably have one in the OHL. You have draft picks that are currently playing in the KHL in Russia, in European leagues, and in collegiate teams. That being said the primary development will come from the AHL, currently the Tucson Roadrunners.

UHC. The structure of the NHL isn’t as small market averse. Contracts and players are vastly different than the NBA. Financials are different. So young team, draft, and smart GM means UHC has leg up. For now. Now to be fair the Jazz aren’t in that early 80’s malaise. Those were tough years.
@UtahHockeyDNA27 күн бұрын
Totally agree! We had another comment that brought a great point, do you think the Jazz were so popular in town for so long because they were the only professional sport? Will bringing hockey surpass the popularity of the Jazz? Thanks for watching!
@BigBlueHorses27 күн бұрын
@@UtahHockeyDNA in part but Utah supported the old ABA team that was winning. I also don’t discount the LHM factor. West High grad, business owner, leveraged everything he had for the Jazz and he was 100% all in on the State. People could see his passion and love for his team and home. Also he backed up the talk. When they started winning it was with drafted and developed talent so fans could see the result. Hockey? Utah also supported the old Golden Eagles. A tough hard nosed team that reflected the market. The old Salt Palace was always rockin and rowdy no matter how many attended. Ryan Smith needs to do major work for fans to see the talk payoff. We all want him to deliver.

@UtahHockeyDNAАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Why skinwalkers? Look forward to hearing back from you.
@leatherbound4233Ай бұрын
@@UtahHockeyDNA Hi, The skinwalker ranch is one of the more popular things Utah is known for. Now take the indigenous culture, the Coyotes used some influence in the logo and jersey look. you can crossover that to Utah in their logo and design with the name. Next, a skinwalker as believed by indigenous peoples is some thing you don't mess with, what better way to intimidate. Look how many sports teams use a animal as their name and logo for the same reasons. Now marketing, they can piggy back on the popularity of the show with out being directly involved in the show or ranch, just feeding off it for revenue on marketing. And, it just sounds cool lol. That's just my take, TY!

There is little doubt that the Sergachev trade will help transform UHC into a respectable, if not potent team. Let's not forget that the additions of John Marino and Ian Cole will impact us positively and immensly as well. Arizona's defense, last year, was the achillies heel of the team. These addtions have changed the entire makeup. And, I don't think UHC is done making further changes to positively impact the team. I'm definitly excited. October can't come soon enough.

@@UtahHockeyDNA I was a gigantic hockey fan in the early 90s… In my dad always talked about going to golden eagles games, now mother would not let me play hockey because it was too cold and cold violent but I always wanted to play goaltender anyway (as I’ve played Triple-A soccer as a keeper) The weird singers as when Matt Randy made his NHL big deal and then blew out the Internet with his fighting that got me back into watching hockey again..And I made a comment on one of the videos about him that since Utah does not have a professional NHL, MLB or NFL Team… I grew up being incredibly non-bias towards any payment as leagues since you told army major league sports team is the jazz… and I would make a great referee since Utah works all the other major sports teams. So I grew up always loving various NHL teams, and colliate football teams (until the Utes started to win PAC-12 championships… but the point of this comment is I said I wish Utah would bring back to Salt Lake golden eagles for an NHL hockey team, because I thought Utah would be ready for one or two main reasons number one we have a growing population in our state, and number two guitar has an actual winter season.. with the greatest Snow on Earth only 45 minutes from an International Airport. And then boom two months later it’s announced that Utah is going to be acquiring the Phoenix coyotes.
