Real life special forces don’t allow females in the teams. Also Marines won’t let females go into combat with them. The army rangers tried to integrate females and the program failed because they just couldn’t handle the training (they had to dumb it down for them). I know this is science fiction but I don’t believe females can hang with the Space Marines.

Honestly, I wish the Emperor reconsidered killing them outright, he should've given a speech about how they have done so well, but their bodies were deteriorating and to prevent this from robbing them of their well earned glory he could've offered them a choice, like he'd say, "you may be placed in stasis for the time being and when called upon you may fight for the Imperium and achieve a glorious death on the battlefield, if not, I'll have my Custodes give you an honorable and glorious death as the mighty warriors you are, you shall go down in history as heroes of the Unification wars with your names and full honors emblazoned on the armor of future warriors to come, what say you my mighty Thunder Warriors?" I really don't mind too much as we already have females in the army anyway on the table top with SOS, I would've much preferred more models in their line up rather than female custodes which add precisely nothing other than a box tick for GW in the eyes of Amazon.
