they learned what you have not yet ... to be counted worthy to suffer for the Christ, as He did for each one of us imperfect sinners, is that to be absent from the body, if you believe in Him, confessed your need, relinquished your pride, in repentance give Him back the life He gave us at birth in gratitude - that when we are no longer on this earth, we pass thru another dimension, a veil we currently do not see, could be close, could be far ... for some that is the god-less lonely leave me along life they desired, and so God did let them be as they wished, and for the others who had the faith and courage to stand up and believe, to them He gave them the power to become the sons (heirs) of God, eternal life, forever with Him, so absent from the body, present with the Lord, only happens when you are 1st born carnally in your mom's womb, and then in the spirit, born again, answering God's call when under conviction of the wrongs we do or have done. I hope that is you, and it answers your question, we are in this world, but we are citizens of another kingdom not of this world. God created this world but in 6000 yrs many have ruined it to their own liking

“Yes, I serve Him because He became what I was So that I might become who He is.” Taken literally, this could be construed as idolatry of self, but I think Burton’s point is that we can become like Jesus in that we can have a personal relationship with Abba, the Father. @georgejburnett129 you are too young to remember, but I grew up in NY where either you are a Met fan or Yankee fan, except in the World Series, then you root for who made it. The Mets whennthey started were lovable lovers, the underdog, unexpected to even have a chance to win, David and Goliath. Hence as a young boy I was a fan, along w my uncle, G-pa and later my dad Now there is a longer tail to this. When I was born the Dodgers and Giants both of NY, abandoned representing the city to move to sunny So Cal. No more Willie Mays, Duke Snider, Gil Hodges, etc. So you can see why my dad was a Dodger fan. Back then you would run into players working winter jobs, selling 📺 TVs, in the butcher grocery store, at the hair cut not like today untouchable to most fans. Few know because of that SON of the Trinity (lol) the Mets were born. Check out their hat. Dodger blue, Giants orange NY logo. Both wore white hence home uniform was white. The Yankees were always a long time treasured team, BABE RUTH, LOU GEHRIG, JOE DIMAGGIO, MICKEY MANTLE, YOGI BERRA on and on not to mention the later stars of the 70s, 80s, 90s and modern like AARON JUDGE. the Mets for many years had twilight stars, has beens and used to be, fading into retirement. Few to none home grown talent. So with those odds and Mr. MET the longtime mascot, that appealed to many kids, the Mets won over many fans. When they won their 1st World Series I was a boy of 11, but we all had the transistor radio 📻 on at Catholic grade school drawing thw ire of many a nun. Lol. So win or lose over the years this was the loyalty of a poor but loved Mets fan. The Yankees were rich, and the Dodgers and Giants became rich. Hence arrogance and swag set in. So hard to root for any. In recent times like the Braves of Atlanta many hate Dodgers, Yanks and Braves. So in a series like this if anyone is to win, let it be the Yanks

Why divisive brother? It is a great song, it should be sung a lot more. My pastor and college Dean Jack Hayford worth it. You miss the point, John once friends w Jack (4 square and pentecostal) now these are looked upon as Samaritans and ridiculed by current reformed Calvanists. I go to a Baptist like church in Atizona who follows John M. To the T and if u didn't go to Master's seminary you are not home of them, your training useless, not qualified. That is the point, at one time John and Jack were good brothers in the Lord. I can't say that of his reformed followers and I've been around 50 yrs now in church ministry to see and observe this. Are we.not supposed to be known by our love for one another, not our differences?

How did this man, who never went to Yeshiva U a man without letters, a man without scholarly learning and lecture, become so educated and polished in the things of God? That is what the religious leaders said to Jesus. Amazed by Him as a boy in the Temple at age 12, they should had been ready for his return to the Temple and ministry at age 30 thru 33. The Way of Life - is found in Jesus The Truth in all things - comes down to our trust in Him if we don't trust Him, what makes you think you can trust anyone - including yourself Those who do trust in Him, find life, an abundant life, an eternal life - a life of peace where we can rest in Him but no so much to rest from responsibility it is not a bed of roses, there will be challenge and even persecution are you - ready - to take up "your cross"?

I know, I thought the same thing, but no he did write the lyrics - you know how it you get in a studio with equalizers and chamber enhancers - they with echo faders and such can make the voice sound different. I remember when I was in studios in the mid 80s I was impressed in how I sounded different or enhanced by such little tweaks. Some have a natural voice and he does, and some may need a little extra which I suspect on this song is what happened.
