yeah happened to me too, then i switched to the red stiff short springs in front with 5-6 bars. milan sl and snoek got short track width and are more typsi roll over faster. with 58 cm while milan gt and df xl got 65 cm track width. soft suspension is really bad for stability. also use large chainrings 80tooth with low cadence so when you pedal its less wobbely. i blame you however you gotta keep the velo in straight line not move around like a chicken. steering mistake by pilot here

Nicely done. I use Mspeedwax too and have to agree with Zerofrictionfacts about its effectiveness. I ride a pedal assist E-Bike and with my first HG Shimano oiled chain it lasted 1500k's before showing worn at .75 on a Park tool gauge. I switched to Mspeedwax from Adam at Zerofrictionfacts advice and chose a KMC chain. This chain has done nearly 6,000k's and still is less than .5 from the same gauge. I have two E-bikes with waxed chains and re-wax every 3-4 weeks (300K's). After removing chains from the pot I let mine drip a little then lay them flat on a piece of paper towel or rag and wipe the outside clean. Then whilst still warm and pliable fit it back on the bike, spin the cranks whilst holding a cloth on the chain and good to go. I'm still using the 2 little blocks of wax 18 months later. Excellent value.

From many years of commuting by bike, I examine the situation on a case-by-base. I use the horn button to beep carefully. Sometimes, if you beep, the inexperienced rider will fall off the bike and blame you. Has happened at least twice. Sometimes, if they're not wobbling, it's better to pass quietly and as quickly as possible. If you shout, you will not be heard if they have earbuds, you also may not be able to see they are wearing earbuds. Also, many older folk here are naturally hard of hearing. If you shout, if they turn their head, their handlebars may turn also, and they veer into your path a bit, making the pass more dangerous. Simply put, use experience and judgment.

@@shenzhenpingpong Actually... I rolled my Bülk sideways after a crash with a car, without a helmet, and didn't touch the ground (I'd know - I'm bald) even though I went over the edge of a sidewalk upside down. @@shenzhenpingpong I'm glad to hear things are getting better and still haven't forgotten, Airmoose (RIP John) who I spoke with from Bentrider. As you've mentioned in the video, things seem to be going the wrong direction in accidents for cyclists especially in Tucson. I'm using Continental Grand Prix 559-28 on my rear wheel and I wasn't even going fast when I hit a bump once and the rear jumped and slid just a little. It was quite scary so I've tried to put in a 47mm - 559 but it won't fit. a 32 would probably fit but I'm not sure if I should try a contact speed 42mm. Would a 605bx40mm fit in yours for maybe more traction?

@@4nz-nl , there are a lot of people reporting that the QV is more stable. For example, if one rear tire punctures, it will not go out of control. There is a video I saw. On a tadpole at speed or into a corner, if the rear tire suddenly punctures, I have first hand experience of what happens.

@@shenzhenpingpong I've had it surprise me with oversteer on multiple occasions and seen that from 5 other riders. We even have that oversteer in one of our Rotte Rijders videos, on a point where tadpole trikes went through the corner at the same speed without issue. It's not a bad velomobile, on the contrary, but if you trust it's stability to be bulletproof you will crash a lot harder than you did with your Snoek. It won't lift a wheel as fast as a tadpole trike, but IF it goes on dry tarmac, it'll go fast and violent.
@shenzhenpingpong

@@4nz-nl thanks for the report. Oversteer, meaning the tail swings out, sounds scary. I wonder then about the weight distribution. Perhaps there needs to be more weight in the back? It's also a heavier velomobile, more weight could mean it flips over harder when it does.

Suddenly there was several deer in my lane I went left, they went right I was at that moment quite stupid. I relaxed, several more then popped out directly in front of me, I pulled hard right too hard and ended up rolling my velomobile nearly half way down the hill. Wow I can't believe you're not saving that much time in the Snoek vs the Bike Friday. For commuting purposes have you considered a faster folding ebike like a Juiced JetCurrent Pro? Perhaps you can charge it and leave it in your office on campus? On my upright it takes nearly 90-100 minutes for my commute each way (20 miles, 1800 ft elevation gain, very few stop signs / signals) and on an ebike it's around 65 minutes. The velomobile is probably the same time as the upright (I too have limited storage options for the velomobile that's why I ride upright bike as it can sit in a cubicle).
@shenzhenpingpong
@shenzhenpingpong 20 күн бұрын
The Bike Friday is not a regular road bike, it's a race machine, I have raced it at a triathlon a long time ago. Look at how low the handlebar is. It enables a nearly flat back aero position. It's easy to do 200km on it. My road bike enables the same position, but has no rear rack. A time trial bike is probably faster still. The Snoek is handicapped by the real-world course, it has to come to a complete stop or near complete stop a number of times, and it has to do a loop to do a 180 degree. And it's heavy, accelerating up to speed means the road bikes get way ahead. Plus up a steep hills, even the trifold kills the Snoek. Actually, I think the trifold is stiffer than the Bike Friday, but of course, body position is everything on upright bikes, so the trifold loses big time.

@@shenzhenpingpong i dont really have many stops along my routes wen i go places. Usually its just long stretches of twisty hilly roads for miles. So hills yea it goes up slow once it loses momentum but i can carry my speed further up the hill because im approaching faster and with less air drag on my velomobile but yea once that momentum is gone, an upright bike can beat me on a climb. But then the velomobile can make up for it on descents. But when i record my rides usually auto pause is turned off. If you don't care about the extra 30 mins, the trifold is very comfortable to ride in 100ºF dry weather. Just after you pass him, he used the motor to accelerate, then starter to pedal. The bike looks like motor is an add-on. Hell, he hardly pedels at all! Bet he has no muscle mass just a very powerful motor. As you keep up with him, he’s used a lot of his battery. Probably in the end game will get him home. But if this was a fifty mile race at 40 miles his battery would go dead. Been riding my bikes 63 years, mostly cross state bicycle tour events of 500 miles in seven days. This guy wouldn’t last the first the first day. You would enjoy a one of theyes cross state tours. Me I ride a Quatrevelo carrying 50 pounds of gear, a degenerating spinal cord keeps me down a lot. So I have no room to talk. Bet this guy has no legs, just motor and ego.
