Good video young man. I am not sure why you did all of that wiring for. One thing it looks like you tried to put the output jack in the metel part of the spark plate. You can't do that. You have to install the jack into the wooden part of the spark cabinet. You could have jumped straight from the spark speakers no switch to the jack leaving the spark speakers working. The ohms would have to match on the external running series or parallel to 4 ohms but 8 ohms should be OK. I have the spark 2 and I am building a stereo cabinet to do the same configuration. Bigger speakers the bigger the sound. Be sure your external speakers can handle the wattage and also not be too higher wattage rated. Should be between 40 to 60 watts rms. Have a great day and enjoy playing music my friend.
@HHGGS2 ай бұрын
@LRHutch yeah I actually tried mounting it with electrical tape wrapped around the washer and the metal part of the spark but it still doesn't work. Mounting it onto the wood would be the next thing to try haha. Thanks for the comment!

I just got it to use with the Meta Quest 3 in order to learn piano. The midi functionality and the price as well as the fact that it was tested and confirmed to work with the PianoVision app is what made me choose it. It's exciting to see you use it as a controller - maybe I'll be able to figure that out too.
@HHGGS4 ай бұрын
That's awesome!! And any DAW with a VST should allow you to use it as a MIDI controller :D have fun learning piano!

You should take care of speakers impedance (ohms)... If not it can damage the amplifier output circuit.

May i know the weight pressing the key same like digital piano?

So it's definitely softer and more springy than a normal piano

Hi Do you think this Terence folding piano is good for traveling? I am a beginner of piano ( I like classical piano pieces) and want to keep piano practice at least an hour a day during a month vacation.
@HHGGS7 ай бұрын
Good question! I think it folds nicely and is the size of a small duffel bag so definitely is meant to be portable. The only issue I would have is that the keys don't feel like a normal piano. If that's ok for you then it's very reasonable for travel!

Yeah, mostly because the auto-sync on logic really messed up the midi piano track for some reason no matter what I did....and I wasn't about to manually sync each note lol

Do u think it will be good for me? As a beginner
@HHGGS8 ай бұрын
Depends on what you want it for. Beginner music production? Absolutely. Beginner classical pianist? Maybe not haha
@m.s.rebelhead8 ай бұрын
It would likely sound better thru a cab with full ranged speakers because u can't really turn off speaker emulation in tbe spark.
@m.s.rebelhead8 ай бұрын
Why didn't u use 2 output jacks? One for left and one for right? That would allow use of the stereo function.
@HHGGS8 ай бұрын
Because my cab is mono haha. Certainly could add another output jack to the dpdt switch though to make it stereo

It seems like its the X88C model. Its one of those basic model from the comp. They have much advanced model like X88e which from what i read is a whole new level from these (tho i doubt if it can match the more expensive Roland FX30 or Yamaha Y125)

Yeah, kind of a "thump" sound. And yes! You're able to connect an external speaker through the 3.5mm jack :D

Nice video, man! would it be really bad to use it live as a MIDI controller? are there any drawbacks besides the low quality in the material of the keys?
@HHGGS Жыл бұрын
Thanks! No the connection itself was pretty responsive in the DAW. Maybe the half spring half weighted keys would throw you off if you're used to a more traditional MIDI controller?
