County Seat. Memories do flood back. All these stores that use to line the mall are all gone or will be gone soon. Those that were bore in the late 90's or later really missed out on a lot of fun!

Being here now exploring the tunnels there's so much missing and i needed to figure out wtf happened cause it all looks like a horror movie abandoned and all. I thought to myself "no wonder these places are behind closed doors in the tunnel looks like a place to traffic" so i just had to find some history cause yeah it was too much to just ignore but now i truly wish i could've seen the past of this..not stay but look

Travis mall center is probably now destroyed or a death mall but it was a beautiful mall and futuristic for the time. Travis mall center, you will always be in are harts. Goodbye.

I could build the Subway. Have started it a bit but the ceiling is too low. Have to make more layers under neath as this has been built on a "Super-flat" world.

I’m 36 my memories were going to Annie’s Santa Fe and the Chinese Restaurant there. Playing on computers at Sears. Getting my Easter Dresses from The Jones Store. Going to Lane Bryant and spinning the racks while my mama shopped. My uncle and I one too many shopping spree and I was BK (British Knights) from head to toe. My first smoothie from Gloria Jean’s coffee. I can weirdly remember getting my ears pierced and I was one. Shopping at Sears, JC Penny’s even DEB, Claire’s both upper and lower level . Going to the movie theater arcade even my cousins (mother and daughter) use to work at the mall the mom would sale Black paintings and the daughter worked at Pretzel time and my brother, cousin and I would run across the mall cause their stores was across from each other. I got my family pictures taken there. Even going to Pearl Vision and making fun of my brother cause he had to wear glasses. Playing around the fountains and the play area the build. As teen I remember telling my mom I’m going to Rainbows but I ended up going to Fredrick’s Hollywood 😂😂😂. I remember getting my first expensive body spray at Bath and Body Works when it looked like a country market. The memories

People really get emotional about malls; it's strange. I wonder if younger generations understand how much people depended on places like this before cell phones and modern tech for just basic human interaction. Nice song choice. I hope in my "life review" I can revisit my teen years wandering this mall in the mid 90s with my best girlfriend.
@Mossy179

Literally breaks my heart. 😢 Somehow, the chosen song couldn't be any more perfect to the feeling of hanging out here in the 90's. I was a pre teen and teenage mall rat in the mid 90's and my best girlfriend and I would have our parents drop us off here on the weekends. We would just sit in the hallways for hours to watch boys our age (usually a little older) walk by, dream about what it would be like to meet our future husbands or boyfriends there (of course we never did); then head to that junky teen shop at the bottom of the escalator towards the end of the hallway where the baesment theatres were to buy some cheap lipstick. Next up to the Upper level to snag a CD at Sam Goody, off to the corner bookstore to look at teen magazines and collect the lastest posters of hanson, JTT, or the Backstreet boys; maybe buy a jaw breaker at the candy store cady cornered to the food court, maybe an orange julius next; off to a movie; head to the pay phone and call our parents for a pick up at the end of the day when we were finally so bored of looking at boys we couldn't take it any more. No cell phones. Nostalgia, absolutely. I wouldn't want to go back, though. Strange illusion, malls are. They ensnare the soul/mind, which is exactly what they're intended to do. Still, seeing these scenes is almost painful. Like walking these hallways all over again. At 13 I had my first kiss at this mall. 😢

@Archmetal 06 Thank you for this! Any footage of the interior of TGI Fridays from the 1990's. That's where I met the love of my life while I was working as a server. I was working in the section inside that had the outdoor seating in front of it. There was a little built-in wood bench by the window in that area. Thank you so much! Lisa

There was a key kiosk outside the main Sears entrance. "Do Not Duplicate" didn't upset the high school girls who ran it. Don't know if you want it, or the auto center. I'm guessing you could get details from Historical Aerials. Cool project.

Cool to see a lot of the original structure is still there today for the most part (minus the anchor stores of course, with larger single floor stores replacing department stores). That's something I was curious about. I love having Trader Joe's there and I'll probably be going to see a movie this weekend. My only complaint is the T Mobile store tried to put me in a que when all I wanted was information since I know I'll need to switch to them in some form within a couple months because of where I'm moving this spring.

@@Archmetal06 I've been wanting to improve the overall KCK cityscape, as I do think downtown specifically needs some work especially for a city that has a 150,000 people. There just needs to be some taller buildings on the Kansas side, Idk why there's not any at all, it just makes the view from Ermine Case Jr. Park look like something's missing.
