I visited the Kahuzi-Biega National Park 3 months ago and it was amazing! Our group got to spend 2 hours with a gorilla family. The male silverback was a 200KG monster but exceptionally gentle. He never made one aggressive movement or expression. I was within about 5 meters from him and his family. He was so comfortable with us that he rolled over on his back exposing his belly. Animals don't do this unless they trust you completely. This video saddened me to learn all the previous habituated silverbacks were killed by humans. I do understand that when they lose their fear of humans that puts them more at risk. I hope the Congo can stabilize and realize that they have a wildlife treasure in their country. People like me will pay to come and see them, but only if it is safe to enter the country. There were times that I did feel unsafe, and I was glad to only be there for 2 days before exiting. When exiting, the customs agent could not believe I was from America. I took some risk, but the reward was well worth the risk I took. Of course everyone wants to exploit the rich mineral wealth. This wealth complicates the country's stability.

So the question I always ask evolutionists is, you say this is one of the first parrots to have evolved, right? Did it just decide that "this'll do, I don't wanna evolve any further, right here will do me fine, thanks"?

‘If we don’t keep this species alive we may never find out sime of our history “ the narrator read out. Such a lopsidedly intellectual world. What about we look after them for the sake of it. The respect that they exist. And - unbelievable work all the people in the refuge. And I was jealous of the lady cuddling the babies

What person would steal one for a pet? They are def not right in the head. These sweet babies grow up. Leave them alone an let them be with mommy's. So sad.😢 Thank god we have a place on our planet helping the less fortunate babies who lost their mommys to cruel ppl.

Wonderful historical fiction about the history and 65000 year connection to first nations people with the palm cockatoo. Their unique conversation and drum sequencing is impressive. They should make them sacred birds, in sacred habitats on sacred country and that would guarantee protection.

I’m confused. I thought the one on the right was the new one. I was surprised that he attacked the other one immediately and sad to see the already-socialized one just take it. Was I wrong and the one on the left was actually the newly introduced one? Either way it did seem like the aggressive one should’ve been stopped. I understand they play rougher but I bet in the wild one of their (bonobo) mothers would’ve intervened. At the very end after the credits the “mom” on the left told the baby to “defend yourself” which tells me they knew this was more than normal play but were unbothered by the plight of the one getting hit over and over by another bonobo he just met. They’re supposed to be very similar to humans but if a human toddler is getting walloped by another toddler we wouldn’t expect him to defend himself at that age. Nor would we allow the aggressive one to keep beating on the other one. It makes me wonder if the surrogates are really all that bonded to their babies or it’s just a job to them. I wonder how the care received by these orphans compares to the sanctuaries where the surrogate mothers are volunteers.

Basically they will both start being kind of playfully mean to eachother. You see it later in the video the one seemingly being bullied starts being mean. There both kind of showing play faces by the end.

They are play fighting if you notice there both making smiling play faces. Bonobos coonstantly play fight and love touching stimulation.

Well done good and faithful servants! I know where you live isn't always safe so I applaud your dedication to our wonderful bonobos! I love primates so much and these little things are thriving on your love! I am so envious. This is exactly what I've wanted to do since I was 5 years old. Now I'm single, my kids are grown and moved away, I can't think of anything more perfect at this time of my life. Other than my children, you know that one other thing in your life that brings you so much joy you want to cry? For me it's primates. I love them all. You ladies and all other staff are beautiful people. Thank you all again! One question. How long do the baby orphans stay with their foster mums?

What a bunch of fraudulent and disgusting people! None of these fools are qualified to care for those animals and all they care about is the money. They sell these animals after stealing them from the forest or from other poachers. It is ridiculous looking at the "surrogate mothers" sit around and do nothing. These "mothers" could pass for the biological mothers of these bonobos and it is difficult to tell one from the other.
