Do you prefer a higher gear ratio for big swimbaits and glidebaits? Would an 8:1.1 be too fas?
@randykast87Ай бұрын
It depends on the bait. For wide gliders like a deps 250 or a RM mother/ Hiroshima trout, I do prefer the higher gear ratio reels so I can pickup more line quicker. However, you do lose a bit of torque to crank the fish in. So I make sure to use a power handle on my higher gear ratio reels to compensate for it. I don't think that 8:1.1 is too fast - as long as you can manipulate the bait effectively.

Hi, What kind of net are you using?

Got to lose the kayak and get a boat bud. More space and you don't got to worry about falling off the f****** thing with a big fish pulling you one way and you trying to counterbalance grab the net and just the chaos that ensues. You would have landed the fish had you had a boat with space to fight the fish and move around. But in your defense I totally get it and understand it's a challenge that you enjoy and like being in a kayak and it's different you can get into better spaces and places it's a lot more subtle and fun. To each their own but just know that loss could have been avoided. Cheers mate!!!! Tight lines!!!

how does that rod balance? i'm used to dobyns and when i try other rod companies it seems like most of them are tip heavy and really not fun to fish with.
@randykast874 жыл бұрын
Hmmm I have gotten rid of the rod since I upgraded to low down customs but I remember really liking it. Lost very few fish and felt good in my hands. I could cast all day without issues. You can always use a counter balance on the butt if you don't like the balance.
