Playing through on PC, I believe this is patched now. It won't let you open an items menu while doing the animation to consume something. Hope you backed up your save before you tried this. 2023/11/24

I much prefer the ds1 glitch where you can easily use 999 of any soul item.

If you use that glitch everytime you get a soul item you can hit max level on your first play through I wanted to test how high I can get so I started a new run yesterday only using the glitch I had 99 strength dex health endurance and resistance before reaching anor lando

It doesnt work on my softs from trilogy version ps4, I didn't update the game, but when I switch my inventory I am unable to select the soul and select drop

The one in dark souls 1 is way easier. Step 1 buy 999 arrows. Step 2 select any soul that is not a boss soul and change order. Step 3 place is underneath the estus flask and go to the arrows. Step 4 drop cancel the arrows. Step 5 press the L1 and highlight brightness. Step 6 press x or b or a and press L1 right after pressing x or b or a button 🔘 on console. You should see a glitch menu if you did it right. Step 7 press down until you highlight quit game. If you did it right click on quit game you should see use item specify quantity press down and left you should be able to hit ok if done right you'll consume 999 souls of the one you selected when change order. This takes practice to get it right so good luck.
