The way I see it, it’s your video, if you like breaking waves…go with breaking waves and ignore the comments. Thank you for your video, not many have done this. For now Navionics is my go to. I found your video because I was searching for a compare and contrast between Navionics and Aqua Maps. So far my initial take on Aqua Maps is a thumbs down. I’m a heavy user of point of interest data and I’m often searching for marina’s and detailed information on them, I don’t see or find that in Aqua Maps and they seem to nickel and dime even more than Navionics. I wanted to give AQ a try specifically because a friend told me it has a good anchor alarm, something that is conspicuously missing from most apps, which KILLS ME!! Unfortunately that added function is overshadowed by everything else I don’t like about the app. An anchor alarm should be a straight forward function for any of these apps and I just don’t know why they don’t include it…liability maybe? Who knows. Currently I use Anchor Watch paired with Pushover. It works pretty well and Pushover allows me to leave a device on the boat w/ Anchor Watch running and get alarm notification on another device (phone). The developer tried to build that into the app, but it didn’t work so when I contacted him he told me about Pushover. I’ve tested the functionality on land and it works well. All that said, the navigation apps should still include this function. That’s my two cents. Again, thanks for putting this out there and ignore the people who don’t like waves.

Some of these new boats or junk right out of the rate out of the factory specially, if you put them against the Chriscraft or a theory of older model, I know there’s a few other models that were built really good back in the day that you can’t get like that no more too expensive to build them so why would you want an old boat just down your channel 2023 seems like we’re gonna get along just well cause I’m a guy keeps fixing these old bolts. I love him since I was a little kid 50 now let’s get Noel harder to do but I absolutely love it. Darn spellcheck lol

Horribly distracting background waves are really annoying and pointless. Please don't use that again. I had to turn the screen away and just listen to the audio. I am sure there are others that don't cope well with that type of distraction. Otherwise it is quite informative.

This is not on topic but I respect your opinion. If an encapsulated lead keel has let go of it’s fiberglass covering can I drill holes in the bottom of the keel to remove any water. Dry it over several months. Then pour in from the bilge side after opening it, that penetrating epoxy to fill any small voids and to rebound the keel to the lead ballast?

I was advised by several sailmakers to use oxalic acid. I cleaned my main from 41ft which was filthy, a big job. Applied acid to wet sail with micro fibre mop all over. Made to instructions on container 100g to 1lt. I kept going over the sail with the mop making sure it stayed wet with the acid for around 15 mins. The stains just come off. Hose off throughly and repeated. Dried in the sun now looking like brand new ⛵️ Oxalic acid is quite mild at these concentrations and used in face peels, beauty products etc. My feet also look brand new and according to several websites I’ve read is a naturally occurring acid in the ground and won’t harm grass or gardens if used correctly.

That pipe is called pvc. Schedule 40 water pipe. The electrical conduit is Grey in color. Either way, it will work for what you want it for.

We own a maxum 1900 sc from yr 2000 with a neath camper canvas. We use it for watersports, daytrips and also weekends camping on the hook. When we run it the car fridge (peltier style) can be plugged in the 12v outlet of the boat. But when at anchor for a few days we need extra power to charge phones, tablet, rc boat batteries and to run the fridge and stereo. So we carry an extra 60 ah car battery that is connected to a solar charger and a 100watt solar flex panel. This panel get's strapped on top of the bimini when at anchor. Since we normally only go out with good weather the 100 watts gives enough power to run everything the whole day and an hour just before bedtime just to give it a last cold boost for the night. The downside is that our car fridge is not very well insulated since a plugged in peltier can easilly keep it cool. But it is using 4 amp constantly. Once tried to upgrade it with a thermostat but it turned out the insulation was so bad that after schutting it down it would take only 30 seconds to go up in temp on the hot boat so much that it made no sense to complete that build. A compressor fridge is much higher quality and will switch off longer times and will be much more efficient. Problem is that they are bigger than the slim car fridge and the boat is small and overcrowded with the three of us. But it would be the better option.

We have a 2002 242 Rinker Fiesta Vee. Our battery isolator failed but our mechanic bypassed the battery isolator. Is there a need for a battery isolator or could be safely operate without one? Also, could an alternator over charge a lead acid battery? Thank you!
