Thanks John no trucks back then I guess
@aussiejohn583517 сағат бұрын
@SlamminEagle The garbage trucks were essentially open flat tops with side and tail gates. The driver stayed in the truck, and 2 runners literally threw the metal garbage cans up to a third crew member who was standing on the waste and emptying the cans onto the growing pile of waste around him and then throwing the empty can back to the runners. You would be surprised at how quickly this method was compared to today. They did this in all kinds of weather conditions and stank to high heaven at the end of their shift. My father was a Garbo, which is why my interest in garbage trucks is still strong to this day.

This crew is amazing, and the 3 work well together. The inner west is full of streets that are more like lane ways, and speed is essential for these crew so they don't impede the traffic flow for too long. Great camera positioning as always. Well done 👍 👏

It's a scruffy way to deal with rubbish piling it up in what looks to be a nice residential neighbourhood, if you did that in England you would get a large fine.

im kind of glad they went for sulo MGBs rather than trident like on the penrith contract i am assuming the sulo contract has carried over from the previous suez/veolia contract i am glad ive got a newer set of sulo bins with the natural green body in cold storage i hate the black body
@SlamminEagle17 күн бұрын
Yeah I’d agree Sulo is better, I would have wanted some of the old bins for my collection, but my storage is limited
@annoyedlemon17 күн бұрын
@ I know during in the planning stage they sent out a questionnaire and that was one of things I mentioned that whatever brand the council/contractor are getting at that point it was mastec I pointed out they massive losses from the trident/superior pak bins barely lasted for the 5 years they had them

Why did he drop the bin in and drive up with it at 1:50
@polegrabba18 күн бұрын
After so long, on buchers they loose grab pressure if you leave the lifter up in the hopper. May of had the lifter up for a while waiting for the packer to clear. I have lost a few in the same way.
@SlamminEagle18 күн бұрын
Ahh really, my guess was an unpaid extra
@ronniemackenzie09718 күн бұрын
@@polegrabbathere's no way that would happen unless theres a problem with the lifter or grabber itself which there isnt! As with all the bucher mjs I've seen there lifters can always remain up in the hopper unless the operater lowers it manually by joystick or foot press! Definality not loosing pressure unless there's hydraulic issue or something! On a superior pak there are sensors that prevent grabbers from opening up in the hopper to drop it in from what ive been told! Reason he did that is because its an unpaid extra bin! Thats one of the outcomes if residents don't pay the rates for the bins its either not collected at all or taken!
@polegrabba18 күн бұрын
@@ronniemackenzie097 regardless they drop grab pressure over time. Nothing at fault with the truck, just so happens to be configured that way, and it is the nature of hydraulic cylinders to creep when they are no longer being supplied pressure. I have unintentionally hoppered residents bins in the same matter, in front of them whilst have been talking to me. You can intentionally open the grabs to drop bins in too, but it requires you to wait and spam the open button to prevent accidental release.
@ronniemackenzie09718 күн бұрын
@polegrabba Oh ok makes sense if the grabbers are not supplied any pressure to it. So after a certain amount of time how long does it take for a grabber to lose pressure? Really heavy bins come to mind but 70kgs is the maximum limit lifters can lift! The revving from my understanding when garbos speed up the rpms "which is very pleasent to hear" is usually to speed up the packer cycler to clear a clutted hopper full of any waste streams i would say that time it fees that is due to waiting and spaming to opening the grabbers manually as these are late generation bucher mjs!

Well done capturing something of the offshore work. I remember being told about this service back in the late 2000s and was keen to video it all back then, just never committed and got around to it. I wonder how long ago they put these steel containers in, they used to have 1.5m and 3m winch bins around the place. I reckon if anyone is going to use those steel 4-wheel bins, you need to have the right lifter set-up and buffer bar to empty them smoothly, not good how they freely swing over into the hopper and bounce on the lifter coming down. Didn't realise this old truck was still in action too, hadn't seen it in ages so thought it had been retired. I also know that champion bloke at the controls, used to be at URM when I was working there, cool to see he's still around.

How amazing it is to watch this and compare it to your recent work. So much criticism in the comments by people who failed to read the description or even watch the entire video. This was filmed prior to my entry into the world of KZbin, and it's fascinating to hear the dialogue from a 4 year old enthusiast and to see your progress to an established and very successful videographer and KZbin creator. I hope you read this, Mr. Eagle.
