Just random observations in no particular order: 1. All the music in the game is absolutely horrible and doesn’t fit at all. The person that chose it literally has no brain. 2. The walking is painfully slow and the “secrets” you’re walking around to find are all pointless and uninteresting, making gameplay feel like a chore. 3. The characters are all universally unlikable modern “they/thems”. So after being subjected to their “personalities” and voices, at about the halfway point in the game you end up not wanting to save any of them, invalidating any reason to participate in the gameplay prompts or pay attention. 4. The game is soulless and completely lacks atmosphere, especially when compared to Until Dawn. The setting is wasted and used improperly. They should have done a more conventional, fun and cliche Friday The 13th thing, but that would require vision and above room temperature IQ, which modern artists and storytellers don’t have. 5. The graphics and lighting are actually somehow worse than Until Dawn from 10 years earlier. Just more developer incompetence on display. 6. The pacing is horrible. The story is ridiculously slow and hard to continue paying attention to. 7. The talentless boobs at the studio made the “werewolves” look exactly like the Wendigos from Until Dawn. I suppose their imagination just has a hard limit. 8. The general scene to scene writing and structure is just very poor. Like where he drags her into the room without taking the shotgun away first, then they awkwardly shut the lights off so she can’t see them… what the hell? 9. Ethan Suplee and David Arquette are totally wasted. Ethan’s character is kind of disjointed, like he’s supposed to be a bad guy, but then he’s a misunderstood oaf who could be good, but then he’s bad again, but then he’s good, but then he’s bad and so on… BAD WRITING. And David is just barely in the game at all. This is a problem because these 2 very likable actors having more or better quality screen time was the only thing that could’ve somewhat salvaged the experience. 10. I don’t think I’ve ever played another game that so clearly demonstrates the incompetence and mental illness of the people that worked on it (maybe Gears 6). They did everything wrong.

Some of this stuff isnt true Like the choices mattering thing If you break in to the cabin in chapter 1 as Abi you can find a teddy bear that can make Kaitlyn and Dylan survive in chapter 10 If Laura shoots Travis in chapter 7 he will stab her on chapter 9 And the reason the werewolf curse is a bad thing is that as a werewolf you have amazing strength and cant control what you do. Even if you lock yourself away you will still break out somehow and spread it.

D Tier: G0-T0 is the character I'm the least familiar with here. I used him for the Dxun Temple section for my first few playthroughs. And then I realized: "Wait, I can just waste a feat on Mira for Stealth, and use her instead." And I haven't used him since. G0-T0 is T3 if you got him later in the game, but sacrifices the ability to gain attributes for slightly more damage, Mind Trick for droids, ignoring mines, and Stealth. Not worth it. T3 is good in Peragus, can have mad attributes and skills by endgame, and gives you +1 Wisdom if you fully repair him, which is pretty nice. That's pretty much it. T3 is basically a skill monkey exclusively once you get him back after Telos.

C Tier: Bao-Dur is in the running for one of the most unnecessarily gimped characters in a video game. Non-Jedi Bao-Dur is D Tier. Full stop. Can't take a hit, doesn't do damage, and is blinder than a bat. But if you can make him a Jedi, he's still pretty underwhelming because he can't wear robes. His best options is either Medium Armor and making him a heal bot with okay damage, or use the mining uniform and be a mediocre glass cannon. HK is the character that suffers from bad feat progression the most. If he had Scout or even Soldier feat progression, he'd be a solid B Tier character. From personal experience, dual wielding is the only valid way to run HK. Rifles and crit fishing in general are fraudulent. I will say he can give you +1 Wisdom if you complete his speech tree, which is nice.

B Tier: Mandalore is just a solid, run of the mill, tank character. You can run him melee or ranged. Personally, I prefer melee. And the built in implants are great. That's...all I really have to say. He's just solid at whatever role you put him in. Visas is a good character, but her biggest issue is that she's just Bastila with a dark side coat of paint (she literally has the same attribute spread as her), which would be great in KOTOR 1, but this is KOTOR 2, where the power level has went up significantly. And Bastila, but dark side isn't groundbreaking. Again, Visas is a consistent character throughout the whole game, she just doesn't have anything crazy going for her. Disciple is slept on to a criminal degree. He's Mandalore w/o the implants and more awkward attribute spread, but he can have force powers and isn't locked to one set of armor. That's really nice to have. Even w/o turning him into a Jedi, he's still better than everyone in C Tier. He's good at range, he's good at melee, he's a good blaster caster, he's a good support/heal bot. Combined with the ease he can become a Jedi is why I think he's solidly B tier. Mira is at the top of B Tier for one reason: high and consistent ranged damage. You don't need to be a Jedi for it. She has it out of the box. I have done runs where I have never made her a Jedi, and I can safely say she's still a menace. I will say that while it doesn't come up often, her ability to take hits isn't the best. Combined with her ability to ignore mines, which is super useful on Dxun and G0-T0's yacht, creates a very useful character.

Kreia and Handmaiden are S tier for me. Kreia because she keeps complaining every conversation and XP boost. Handmaiden S tier because she's pretty good without weapons or armor

mastery flurry and rapid shot dont have any accuracy penalties. they are just the normal attack with an additional strike

Peragus is one of my favourirte parts of the game. Telos station... i dont mind first part, i help fishpeople and kick exchange butt. But the planet surface is boring hell. Its a bit too hard for this part of the game. Minefields are source of exp i wouldnt mind them if they didnt stuck them around every other batlefield. Not mine or two, sometimes 10+! Another chalange like that is at goto ship but by then you have mira and dont care about mines... Also almost everyone got personal shields. I know bao can break those but only in melee range and he tend to miss a lot. If telos was not so grindy and flow breaking i could like it or at least not mind it. As it is now my reaction is "damn not again"

I usually side with czerka when I play this level. The only part about this level is when I get to interact with Atris. It's fun toying with her and get her pissed off.

I'm the weird one and runs through the entire citadel in like an hour on hard, doing everything I can with my run (male lightside, so no czerka lol) The game tells you what it wants from you. It's the most broken (not buggy, at least on version 1.0a not 1.0b, on xbox on og hardware not emulated) beautiful masterpiece!

I almost always have Kreia as a companion. I rarely use Bao Dur unless I have to, he's pretty weak in combat.

Certainly agree with Vaklu and Tobin, interesting characters trying to achieve noble goals by pragmatic means. Rather realistic, and not something often seen in Star Wars media.

great vid. i'm drunk and stupid so i haven't quite figured modding out, even after your vid (not a knock on your vid, it's great) but i would like to point out that kotor 1 and 2 are some of the greatest fiction in any universe ever created. the story is timeless and could apply to any fictional universe. even if you can't play an awesome pc modded version play it on console

Idk i like it. The surface section can be pretty tough tho if youre playing on hard. I sometimes have to bump the difficulty down for the plains section lol

All of Citadel Station is the “worst part of KotOR”. Once you go to the planet surface, things begin to pick up & once you get to The Polar Region, the game has officially begun.

I always bring Kreia because why restrict being chastised to only when you're on the ship? I use her as a support mostly. Force bond means even more buffs that you dont need to cast. She's in my party in 99% of my runs. Tho she does take a few levels before she gets off the ground

Emma can be killed by wolf jacob if jacob didn't pick emmas silver bracelet 20 minutes into the game. It's very situational as you have to get jacob infected, emma infected, then cured and not kill her with silver. But thats one of the only 'butterfly effect' moments i can think of.

My favorite bit of KOTOR combat is missing every single one of my melee strikes for the first 6 hours of the game.

If you have that problem early game, unequip your offhand weapon and don't use abilities like power attack or flurry. All of that reduces accuracy greatly, especially early game. Yes, that will greatly reduce your theoretical maximum damage, but theoretical maximum doesn't matter if you can't actually land a hit. Between dual wielding and flurry, I think flurry would be the best first thing to add back in as your accuracy starts to improve, because it has a smaller accuracy penalty.

Scout is very good starting class, arguably the best. I at least think it is better than soldier by a longshot. 1. It outpaces the other classes feat wise with all of it's useful bonus feats, (including uncanny dodge which is nice). 2. Increases ALL 3 saves every level, whereas other classes only do this with one type of save. Also starts at +2 for all saves, whereas other classes start with +2 on only one type of save. 3. Gives a wide variety of skills and the second highest amount of skill points. (two more per level than soldier). 4. The loss of heavy armor doesn't hurt because it won't matter once you become a jedi (it restricts important force powers). The only thing you would lose out on by going scout over soldier is a single point of attack bonus every 4 levels and 2HP per level. But, if you start saving your level ups at level 4 until you get jedi classes, you'd only lose out on 1 point of attack bonus and 8hp in total. But in return you get 2 more feats, 2 more skill proficiency's, 8 more skill points, and +3 more to WILL and REF saves than soldier, which is well worth it for the benefits. Also, my advice is to NOT go Sentinel ever. It is underwhelming, and only gives you immunities that you can find most of elsewhere. Always go Knight for melee focuses (lightside reccomended) or Consular for casting focus (darkside reccomended).There is no rule stating that scout is stuck to speccing into sentinel, nor would it be optimal to do so.

It is butterfly effect 3:37 if you don’t open the cabin door in the beginning of the game, you will not be able to get the teddy bear and with Emma and Abby dead Kaitlyn will die
