Another great video! I’m from MI too and kayak quite a bit with my golden retriever, but I’d get out a lot more if I went solo like this! Love the idea but I’d need someone to come get me wherever I end up and most places up north don’t have Uber or cell service lol

My favorite place to kayak is in Hell, Mi. It’s a chain of 7 beautiful lakes connected by canals. Start at Bruin State park and kayak the 3 or so miles through the lakes and end up in Hell where you get out right next to the dam and can grab food at the pub sitting right there. You can then either portage the dam and continue down Hell Creek where there is another campground about 7 miles downstream or just paddle back to the state park where you began. Absolutely incredible solo day trip. The thick lush vegetation and wildlife is worth it. I just recommend avoiding weekends due to heavy boat traffic. Fortunately though the county sheriff has boats out patrolling and keeping an eye on things.

OMG those black flies. I asked my wife if we ever encountered black flies like that on lake huron. we both agreed that kayaking in lake superior is where the black flies bothered us. never in lake huron.. of course this was years ago.great drone footage and just an all around nice video. we enjoyed and like always ,miss the kayaking and marathons that we competed in in michigan on the ausable and st. marys river in the up. too many years ago. thanks again for a nice summer video and looking forward to more highlighting the land of endless fresh water. sooooooo jealous.
@AtlasAdventures5 күн бұрын
I heard the black flies in the UP this year are insane! And it was just at the lighthouse where the flies were bad, which was weird… Glad you enjoyed 😁

I kayaked to Turnip rock about 5 years ago, it was a nice paddle. We had trouble with the land owners yelling at us threatening to call the cops if we got out of our kayaks. We stopped to rest and swim for a few minutes. The land owners followed us in their golf cart and made a great day not great. Great video!

I just did this exact trip. I got 3 hours of gopro footage to edit. It will be under a different channel once I edit everything. really want to say thanks for the inspiration. I watched this video soo many times. Got me pumped and prepared on what to expect. I will comment on this when I get my new channel and the video is up if you care to watch. It was so beautiful there and so fun! Well worth the 11 hour drive each way.

another fun video with great drone footage. Really impressed with that fiido bike. especially the mies your getting on those dirt roads. going over to EZE Ryders in san diego to look at them. we have 2 lectric bikes now but very basic. really like how beefy fiido looks and looks like they have some sales going on right now. also miss that 70 temps vs our 110 today.

Bret You did well on this video! What a cool idea! It's definitely a big challenge on going up that hill with a bike! So, what were you drinking by the stream? Was that bone broth ? Another interesting idea I might try! Thanks again for a very entertaining idea. Got me thinking of an electric bike! Rick From Virginia

Thanks Rick! Yes that was bone broth. I drink it a lot, it’s great for gut health and mostly just protein. I highly recommend an e-bike, they make bike riding pretty effortless!

Looked like a great time! Is there a way to carry a spare battery or some type of solar charger for the bike for longer trips?
@AtlasAdventures16 күн бұрын
Thanks as always! They do offer a mount that you can put two extra batteries in, but they would interfere with the pannier bags. You should be able to use a solar panel. I took mine on this trip but I forgot the cord…
