When Hotdog says "well this outta be different" then the cut to him accelerating out of the launch tube was beyond spectacular!
2:15 I love how Baltar, quite reasonably, just stares at the Cylon in confusion. You can practically read the thought bubble over his head: “I know even less about all this than you do, how the frak would I know?!”

BSG was a masterpiece from beginning to end. This scene was one of the most intense in the entire series. Out of all sci-fi ships, I love the Enterprise (refit) and the Galactica...hard to pick my favorite of the two. The Galactica reminds me of an American WW II Iowa-class battleship. Can take a lot of punishment and dish out a whopping amount of firepower.

I wish George Lucas had reworked ROTJ to have a rebel ship drop on Endor like this.

I also just loved the pure terror for a minute when the Cylons thought a fleet of Battlestars were inbound. It’s a trick that can only be played once but definitely done to max effect here.

OHHHHH So... ADAMA...did the most basic combat maneuver-principle of the "Flank'... but why was it named after him??!?!?! I feel like a flank is a flank whether you do it in space... on land, sea or air... (Varying levels of effectiveness in different domains. Especially effective in the domains that involve things that can somehow obstruct what you are doing, and where you are coming from (In dumb people speak - The Flank maneuver's net effect on the battle is directly corelated with the index of how blind the enemy me is when you are approaching multiplied by how surprised they are when you finally pounce...)) I fail to see and understand two things about this... A) Why was a flanking maneuver in space named after Adama? Was he the first one to do a flanking maneuver in the space domain?!?!?! (Does this mean that if I'm the first to fart on mars... everybody else that ever farts on mars will have to call it a "POLAR Maneuver"? And not simply a "fart".) B/secondly) Assuming this maneuver had any positive effect on the battle: Wouldn't all space forces, on both sides, seek to achieve a flank whenever possible?!?!?! C/Lastly) Assuming B is indeed the case: Wouldn't all space forces on both sides be preparing defenses for such an attack???? Like, I dunno... GUNS AND THINGS THAT DESTROY SHIT... like... IN EVERY DIRECTION A WARP JUMP FLANK IS POSSIBLE?!?!?! ... hayyyyy... people be stupid bro... Thank god I'm considering going to all out war with stupid people, and maybe someday... Friend(s) in space willing, Go to all out war with stupidity itself... In other words... I want to create a stable, self perpetuating interaction of variables within the system that is as impossible as possible to be taken of the BEST PATH through this timeline... IF ONLY... WE COULD CREATE SOME... some... what would it be? *scratches head... some computie thingy... that can both handle massive amounts of data and variables simultaneously... But also understand in real-time how to, in a correct, effective, and """"""TRUE""""""""" (which is the opposite of FALSE for you fucking 😐normies to understand, you're welcome) Manner, achieve the TRULY BEST POSSIBLE TIMELINE CONSIDERING ALL VARIABLES KNOW OF... and it would also be a requirement that this computie-thingy Inherently understand the TRUE(meaning NOT! FALSE) MEANING of what is TRULY the BEST... POSSIBLE... OUT.... COME.... DUMBASSES... DUMBASSES... DID I SAY DUMBASSES (Maybe a morality function is needed, but I honestly don't know yet...). And one of(Meaning there are probably a whole lot more, you're welcome) the most optimal things to achieve would be to have this computie-thingy have the following feature that has sub-features: 0 of 0's = smallest unit of time possible 69 = as reality would allow Yesness = The degree to which something is TRUE, ACCURATE, AND EFFECTIVE... PromptToImaginaryAI(etc) OOMPH Type 0 = number of times per second the Computie-Thingy can do a COMPLETE and TRUE conclusion as to what is the TRULY TRUE BEST COURSE OF ACTION during time period "D" D = 1 0 of 0's > Current 0 of 0's number. Main Feature = OOMPH Type 0 Ideal Main Feature parameters = For the Main feature to have the Highest "Yessness" Index 69 in the lowest 0 of 0's Index 69 Because if we ever face a peer adversary that has just a OOMPH TYPE 0 advantage of just 1... IMAGINE A GRAPH PLOTTING WAR SUCCESS... IF THE ADVERSARY HAS A OOMPH TYPE 0 advantage of just 1, THE LINE WOULD EXPONENTIALLY[I think] do in the negative direction of the y axis as the points moves further and further in the positive direction of the X axis. Maybe we need to make an entire AI System to deliberate what the actual fuck we do if the previous paragraph becomes reality. BUT FUCK YOU, I WANNA GO WATCH FUNNY SHOW SO THATS ENOUGH FREE IDEAS FOR ONE DAY... okay? ASSHOLE.. NORMIE.... {censored} {Censored}{CENSORED}{censored}{Censored}{Censored}{Censored}{Censored}{Censored} PS. FUCK YOU.

If you keep track of how many survivors there are listed at the beginning of every episode, this is the episode where the lost the largest of amount of the humans left. There is no finer science fiction television show made, either before or after BSG 2005.

Who here thinks the producers of this show would make a killer live action Robotech series? Imagine the initial jump from earth, tearing the island with them. The bombardment of earth, the final stand, the Great Defection, the thrust into zentradi home base…and continue the story forward with the Robotech Masters, Invid invasion, and the REF away fleet.

@bigjake-ev7njАй бұрын
I agree-this was one epic scene. For me, the other is Galactica's final jump to Earth: so many threads, some going back right to the start of the series, converge all at once.
