Not a vet just looking for some advice Maybe I can help my vet with I have a German shepherd cross collie 4 years old now suffered for a long time With demodex mites and the vet's can't seem to get it under control can you give me any advice that I can tell the vet. Please

thank you for raising awareness. I think veterinarians could also learn how to draw strong boundaries, such as "i will not perform convenience euthanasia"! we are not taught how to, we learn that we should help everyone. But it is not always possible..

This video seems to end in the middle. Very unexpected. Some people viewing a video on a dissease will be looking for information to continue their own reserarch, and for those people, this is an excellent video - but most people, like myself, will have an animal with the condition, and they are looking for information to treat it. I'm sure that anybody who is involved with the research as you are, will have some ides of what to do about it - but no mention of that was made here.

It's sad to see that not much real explanation for how it work! Yes, the pet food will bind the Fel d1 in saliva! Do you know when cats grooming their hair with saliva, "no pet food" is in their mouths? In addition, do you know that Fel d1 will also being produced in sebaceous glands and many other glands rather than just saliva gland? Furthermore, do you know that it will produce negative feedback for cats to produce more Fel d1 for compensation, just like the case of type II diabetes? These are why many people still get allergy without any improvement...

@@danielsoto4752 Hey, dry food by itself is not good enough for cats as there is a lack of moisture and the nutritional value isn't interesting. There is no paper/research that leads to the conclusion that this particular Purina Dry Food has any negative effects on a cat's health(when it is along other food sources). Also, what the person mentioned is misleading. Cats do produce Fel D1 in their glands, but the highest concentration of Fel D1 is found in their saliva. As the person mentioned as well, no pet food is in their mouths but the Fel D1 in their saliva that they produce has bound with the IgY antibody in the dry food from Purina. Therefore neutralizing the Fel D1 in their saliva. Quote: "After ingesting the treated food, the cat absorbs the IgY through the gut and into the circulation, later secreting Fel d 1-specific IgY in the saliva during selfgrooming. The salivary IgY then purportedly neutralizes Fel d1 on the cat’s furry coat" - "The curious history behind a biologic-enriched cat food: Hyperimmune avian IgY as a means of oral adoptive passive immunization" Joshua A. I’d love to be a vet but I find myself being worried about time. I hear all of the people around my age saying that in your 20s you should be partying or just living life and I find myself having trouble with deciding if I want to spend 10 years in collage and then have debt after words. Could you make a video about if you found that you were wasting your 20s or if you felt that it was a good decision

Adult demodicosis needs real workup for underlying causes rather than simply treating for Demodex because most of vets are missing this tip

I'm having to put my 17 year old purebred English Shorthair Orange Persian kitty from this horrible disease. Started in October of 2021, when my Mom, who lived with us her whole life, passed away from Turbo Cancer in September 2021. She would sit at the driveway and stare at her truck, looking for her to get out. She has been on morphine the whole time, and gabapentin but she still paws after she eats and drinks. Ive had to hand feed her, then clean her mouth and then massage and hold her down so she doesn't rip her mouth and tounge open. This past Saturday , she stopped eating hard food and drinking water. She was eating the soft food, mixed with water, and a large 3 inch blob of blood and saliva fell out of her mouth and into her food. The vet, after many visits, have decided on severe TMJ, but its not. Its FOPS. They gave given x rays, MRIs and CT scans and found nothing. Its a horrible, mysterious and rare disease. We are putting her down tiday and I'm so sorry. It takes me hours to feed her and drip that mix into one not so damaged side of her mouth. I know, with me, I've stopped getting cleaned from my dentist because I am akways in pain for a couple months. Thank you for your work. This is such a crazy syndrome.

This might sound weird, but I actually practice mindfulness meditation with my dog in my lap. She rests as I do some exercises, currently from the meditation book "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels, and with my stress levels low before separation, hers are lower also.

min 3:07 "there is no reason or excuse for" the pay gap (of here only 6%!). This "researcher" is clearly not able or interested in explaining the possible reasons for the gap. No job is like the other. Therefore there might be tons of variables that account for the minor differences in the gap! These HAVE to be addressed. Those though would clearly be just "excuses" for the immoral, patriarcic systemic "discrimination" of women, right. Gender-studies never have been scientific... they were always based on an ideology as can clearly seen here. I never understood why they are taken seriously to begin with.

You should learn what the Pay Gap actually is. Men and women get paid the same if the work the same, there is no actual women doing the exact same job working the exact same hours that are getting paid less. If women were really getting paid less for the same work, no business would hire men, they'd just hire all women to save money. Perpetuating this myth only deepens the divide between modern day men and women.

@@xDarkSpotx I seriously doubt that "all" (sic) comparisons take this (and the other variables that explain different salarys) variable into account. They stated here that not all veterinarians reported their income (of course not). Even there the database seems likely to be biased... Remember never to believe statistics you did not fluke yourself.

I feed my cat and kitten dry foods and every Saturday, I give them wet foods so the dry isn't so hard on them.. I did do wet everyday but of course, it's costly and my 1yr old cat got super fat so he's on a diet
