Change Everything! Like what?
@CosmicExplorer4310 күн бұрын
By change everything, we mean the James Webb Space Telescope is completely reshaping how we understand the universe. It's uncovering galaxies that formed earlier than we thought possible, giving us stunning views of star formation, and even detecting signs of potential habitability on exoplanets. These discoveries challenge long-standing theories and open up new questions about the cosmos.

If something is ten thousand light years away how do we see it ? and is what we are seeing ten thousand years old ?
@CosmicExplorer4310 күн бұрын
When we observe something 10,000 light years away, we're actually seeing the light that left it 10,000 years ago. Light travels at about 186,000 miles per second, and a light year is the distance light travels in one year. So, yes, what you're seeing is essentially a snapshot of how that object looked 10,000 years ago. It's like looking back in time because light takes time to travel across space.

This doesn't make sens,how could a star predate the big bang?
@mantumantubariha2679Ай бұрын
Wait, what? A star older than the universe? Science is truly full of mysteries!
@johnreaper4525Ай бұрын
What I find baffling is how close it is to our solar system. Even if it’s not older than the universe it still would be ancient. So ancient that the point where the Big Bang started would have needed to be nearby. We could be looking at one of the very first stars.
@hansjorgkunde3772Ай бұрын
The big bang theory is, well, still a theory.
@charlie2284Ай бұрын
Best guess. That is what science is. The most powerful telescope can see that star as a small dot. The scientists check that dotted light and calculate the distance, composition, and of course age. It is quite sure they guess all these and tell us that it is older than the universe itself. A famous movie line says "what if the core of earth is made of cheese?" One fact is that science has progressed by overturning the current facts known to the scientists at that time. Who knows? Maybe all the scientific knowledge we know today might one day be all prove to be wrong... 😂

A star older than the universe? How is that even possible?

That star died a long time ago, you are seeing ghost starlight.

without knowing the specifics about this, 190 light years away, its just 190 years, its not "long time ago" my no means, in cosmic scale is just a blink of an eye

@@CosmicExplorer43 We just came inside from having a chance to finally see the comet for the first time! It's a mere white smudge anymore, but we can say we saw it with our binoculars! (Sonoma County, California! )

That's amazing! Seeing the comet, even as a faint smudge, is still such a special experience, especially knowing how far it’s traveled and how rare these moments are. Binoculars definitely make a difference for catching those final glimpses! Thanks for sharing your excitement from Sonoma County!

Cool information! This video popped up in my feed for the first time and I'm super happy about that! Subscribed 😊 One ask, please, can you leave the text up a little longer? I can't read that fast and comprehend what is written, and having to pause to read is distracting, I'm also lazy. LOL'z I love the diagrams too, if when you take the text away, leave the diagram up a little longer so we can see the relation of the text to visual without the text blocking the diagram. Everything is understandable, simple, and super interesting! Fun stuff!❤🎉

We really appreciate your feedback about the timing of the text on screen and how it relates to the visuals. Thanks again for watching, and we're excited to have you with us on this cosmic journey!
