does brake balance actually make a difference for you, best i could muster so far is a 31.2

Yes. The brakes and downshifts are the main way to rotate this car. The BB can change the balance quite a lot.

Great lap Kane. Out of curiosity, between the ray and the porsche cup which do you find more difficult to set good times? I've recently been trying the cup and I'm a country mile off compared to my ray pace. Cheers

PCup. It requires a lot more precision overall. You can't dance with the car as much so there is less margin for error.

Your braking is so smooth so I started copying you and it helped me so much but just wondering I see other people brake really hard.Its just why do you brake so smooth and your so fast like how does that make you fast
@Kolowojo_
@Kolowojo_ 3 ай бұрын
This car requires quite a lot of trail braking to help it turn. If you brake as hard as possible then 2 things will probably happen: 1. You slow down too much so have to release the brake early and not trail brake. Now you are slow on entry and still don't have rotation. 2. You brake later to try and carry the correct amount of speed, but now you have hold the high brake pressure for too long to slow the car down and don't have much time to have a smooth trail brake. Now the balance of the car of wrong and you spin out or lock the tyres. Braking earlier but lighter keeps the car more stable, which make it easier to you control the balance and speed more with a smooth trail brake.

Wow! Amazing how clean your inputs are. specially on T3 followed by T4. Mine are just like a seismogram during an earthquake. Before seeing this lap of yours I thought it would be impossible get any level of smoothness on Mazdas. Do you have any advices?
@Kolowojo_
@Kolowojo_ 3 ай бұрын
Prioritise the smooth inputs and weight transfer. For example, it might feel faster to brake late, hard and have a lot of corrections, but it will be faster to brake slightly earlier so that you can brake lighter with a smoother brake release. You can control the balance of the car and rotation easier.

Amazing lap! Im 2.5 seconds away from you, i aim to one day get to your's laptimes! May i ask you a question? Wow do you train to be on control during the sideslip, i strugle trough that, i may catch some slides but in general i end up loosing the car with much less sideslip than you normaly use to get laptime
@Kolowojo_
@Kolowojo_ 4 ай бұрын
The main thing is knowing how or when the slide is going to happen. It's much easier to control a slide when you can anticipate it and know it's going to happen, rather that reacting to it and it catches you out. The actual control aspect just comes from experience and practice. Try to intentionally create oversteer with the brakes and practice catching it. Create big slides, small slides, in fast corners, slow corners, short and long. It will take a while, but eventually you will get a feel for when it will happen and what to do to save it.
