The obligation of conformation lies on those ones, who claim. Not on those ones, who refute. So if you claim resurrection to be true, prove it

@ДенисСиницин-р8л how about the men who saw him raised from the dead, and went around telling everyone that he was alive and all of whom were tortured and all but 1 was killed because they continued to proclaim that he was risen.

There is a deep psychological truth here- the conscious awareness of mortality may not be uniquely human, as there are apparently some other animals who share our ability at least to mourn the passing of their companions, but our ability to think deeply about our own passing does seem to be something which goes hand in hand with some essential cognitive capabilities of humans, and we do need to find a way to come to terms with the finite nature of our own existence if we are to make the most of the time we do have available. It’s unfortunate that both those who reject religion entirely and those who embrace a literalist interpretation of the scriptures fail to recognize the value of the many psychological truths explored there.

I had this thought today as I was wondering why I keep stumbling back away from God. My priorities are different than what God has in store for me. Forgive me God, I am not perfect, and praise be to Christ for showing me the way!

I would be dumber than a door knob if it wasn't for eve. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between good and evil. thank you eve now I can study the origans of my religion and find the truth and that's what the church doesn't want. Why would God want to keep you ignorant.

Personally I have no problem with people that have religion. It’s the problem when you shove converting to your religion is the problem. I’m sure your a really nice guy :)
@AirdrieChurch24 күн бұрын
Were certainly not trying to shove it on anyone, we both know all that does is make people annoyed. Were just giving the invitation to folks who are interested, and doing it the same way that any traditional marketing is done.

Wrong teaching sir!! The soul who sins shall surely die. Without holiness we shall NOT see God. Period! Satan's lie says it is not so. Therefore, Jesus came to deliver, cleanse and free us from all sin that we may stop sinning and live just, righteous and holy and may not die. God does this by His grace for those who have faith / believe that God demands holiness, promised to make us holy and that Jesus can deliver us from all sin and MAKE us holy. He gives us this gift according to our faith in Him, in His words, His commands and His promises. However missing the vital and essential role of the cross and blood of Jesus because if righteousness was possible without the cross cross, Jesus died in vain. Gal 2:21. How does the cross and blood of Jesus do this? Zech 12:10-13:9, Acts 2-4, 9 and 1Pet2:24-25 say how. Jesus bore our sins in His body on the cross. The Holy Spirit causes us to look up to Him and see it was I that pierced and murdered Him with every sin. If we confess this with deep mourning, repent, make right, get baptized, He forgives, washes, cleanses, delivers is from all sin through this blood we admit flowed due to sin, fills us with His HOLY SPIRIT, makes sin stop and makes us live righteous and holy, heals us, stops us going astray, shepherds us and oversees our souls. Without admitting you have shed Jesus' blood with every sin, there is no forgiveness or deliverance of sin. Hebr 9:22. All this is by grace through steadfast faith in Jesus and the scriptures that the above is true and possible. We deserve the death penalty for every single sin because it murders Jesus and there is forgiveness and total deliverance available. I would love to have a zoom meeting with you and talk and share more. I will send a document summarizing my beliefs. Be blessed, Faan Oosthuizen

Stephen! I so rejoiced to hear this sermon! I rejoiced to see how your mind was working, sermonically. I rejoiced to hear your extemporaneous style. Extemporaneous-ness has no glory in itself, as if we might boast of a style. I rejoice because it means that the LORD has given such a speaker the MIND to have such rhetoric in their heads! To really be an effective public speaker, that’s a basic prerequisite. And you’ve reached that step on the ladder. Along with this goes vocabulary and phraseology, and time and time again in this sermon I rejoiced at these things! In Greek Philosophy, the Cynics could be great speakers and masters of forensics: But they believed NOTHING! So style is only complimentary when it’s built on content! And the Gospel & Kingdom qualify! Most important of course is the Scripture and it’s theology: And here again, you were SO GOOD! Your handling of the text was both careful and dynamic. I just rejoiced again and again at the places and ideas you ploughed up. And your theological balance between law and gospel, head and heart was spot-on. You turned these thoughts over slowly, meditating on them instead of rushing by - and just depending on the words or thoughts themselves. Very few have this gift. A sermon like that provides such a good base then for ‘preaching’ and exhortation. At almost every place you either did or could have applied your sentiment to your people! As in the movie TOO GUN with Tom Cruise, you created a ‘target friendly zone,’ where any and all exhortation would have been appropriate. And you carefully kept coming back to your people. I couldn’t help but rejoice. Scotland needs you so much! And she needs long-term ministries like this. Long term! 😂 Time is one of the great variables of church history. Airdrie and Scotland were so blessed by SAQ, and they will be blessed by Stephen McCollom! Well, Stephen & BRENDA McC! 😂😂😂 And God will use a long term to sanctify your children. I prayed for this, but the aLORD did above what I asked or thought. And now I can see it in my grand kids. What joy, to see gospel influence penetrate the generations! I’m being a bit tedious here because preaching is so difficult! It wears us down. It’s so hard to preach the sublime when we ourselves are so partial and incomplete! It still takes me more than a day to recover, and I’m only doing one sermon a Lord’s Day, and I’m expending less energy! But both Church and Kingdom need us! (BTW: Thanks for understanding the Kingdom concept! I hardly hear it mentioned in other men’s preaching - and it’s so powerful!) Thank you (& the LORD!!!) for so encouraging me with this message. I love J the B, and I loved your scope & perspective when you used the transition of cultures/empires of Greece, Rome & Persia! It was just great brother. Make sure your Elders see my commendation here! You need to be encouraged! You’ve made giant strides since being a wee pulpit ‘mon!’ You look so good there! (Ie., in the pulpit! God bless you!
