There are so many versions of the Rectifier amp which is crazy. You achieved the perfect KSE tone here. I think The Rectifier Series of amps > The Mark series of amps, in terms of sound. My favourite Rectifier is the Mesa Badlander. I will see if I can get this tone with it. I like how you didn't pan the guitars all 100 percent and had 80 percent because it's better for your ears to have not the same percent of pan on both sides if you want a stereo effect. I always thought that KSE used almost full gain until I found out that the guitars were multi tracked which gives that wall of distortion sound.

What an amazing show, hope you had a blast there!! Metallica never disappoints. Also it's great to see James smiling so much while performing, it's good to see the boys happy! Can't wait for the two shows in Hamburg this month🤘🤘

It was such an amazing show with two great setlists! The coolest thing ever was seeing the boys happier than ever on stage, they were vibing and smiling all the way through, such great energy! Enjoy the show in Hamburg, it is one for the historybooks 🤘🏼

@@basmesa I'm glad you had a great time! I saw them live for the first time last year (something I've wished for since I was a teenager) and it was incredible! There were lots of sound issues, it was raining A LOT but all that didn't even matter because it's Metallica🤘Sometimes I go back to the uploads on their channel from the show I went to last year to relive those memories. Also, I saw the setlists for the two shows in Amsterdam and they were truly amazing! Love that they played some deep cuts too. Leper Messiah sounds great live. I remember being so happy when they included Trapped Under Ice and Dirty Window on their setlists last year. I can't wait for the surprises they'll have in store for us since pretty much any song is possible now (except Escape probably😂). And I fully agree! It warms my heart so much when I see them smile and have fun during concerts. Those boys are an international treasure!!

rev g as way more balls ..it trembles and u can had more mids and it would sound a little more like the rev f but the g to me is the real rectifier sound.

Which version rectifier? rev G? is it multiwatt?
@basmesa Жыл бұрын
It's the first version of the three channel dual rectifier. The version before the multiwatt and after the rev G :)
@coldbastard68592 жыл бұрын
Rev F has the most harmonic richness IMO. Rev G sounds more dull.
@basmesa Жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree. Especially playing them side by side in the room. The feel when playing is different as well, I had more fun with the rev F. Just the little subtle difference in tone, and the bigger difference in feel make the rev F for me the perfect amp.

I just got mine 3 days ago. Its really great. I have also 2 other older rectifiers. A 1994 rack dual rectifier and unknown year 90s tremoverb. All sound great although different. The triple rev F has the best "red" channel, The tremoverb has the best vintage channel, and blues channel with boost is amazing. The racktifier has the best cloned vintage to modern channel. The triple can really remove paint from the wall though.

@basmesa5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The tubes are standard Mesa 6L6 tubes. Also Mesa tubes in the pre amp
@coldbastard68596 жыл бұрын
This is what happens when you only use preamp gain instead of mixing preamp and power amp gain. Not a very good tone. My advice ? Turn Master Volume to full and channel volume as low as you can. Tone is a lot better and you can get full benefit of those 6L6 ( it's a common trick with tube amps unless you have an attenuator ).
@helpcomputah944 жыл бұрын
Completely wrong. Power tube distortion is great for old school greasy classic rock tones, but not for tight metal tones. Distorting the power tubes causes the low end to sag and flub out; not ideal for this application but the holy grail for others. You really want a clean signal as possible for tight, percussive metal rhythms. That is why high wattage tube heads remain in favor for metal, because they can get loud while having enough headroom to stay tight with the lows. As an example, during the black album tour, the band slaved their Mark IV heads into Strategy 400 power amps, which were 2x200 watts of stereo tube power. More headroom for tight crushing metal at earsplitting volumes suitable for huge stadium shows.
