Thanks, this is my second attempt ever to green screen and this was very helpful, lots of basics that I was able to pick up from this video. ( 03:46 right click the gray area for alpha node was very helpful!)

Woz, I started my training with you years back on FXPHD when you did the Grading in Resolve course where you did the Car/iPhone commercial. Resolve was still hardware based back then. I've purchased and benefitted from your training over the years, so I just want to say thank you for keeping me current through major releases. Top lad! Where do we send the email if it isn't in the inbox?
51:55 this is what you came here for…. Full timeline color matching with the ability go back in and fine tune it inside of Resolve…

Nice talk. Regarding the color mixer - I change the node to luminance to du contrast control based on the colors (like in black/whit but in color).

It has many uses but folk tend to give it a try, they break the image then never go back. Baby steps are great

Hey gang! I think Color Slice would work better if it was Color space aware like the Color Warper. I find it creates a good amount of noise now. But I do agree the top controls work great.

I have been amazed to see how far HDR has come. Cell phones are being created with higher nit levels. They are becoming the new normal go to devices for consumers introduction into HDR.

Question regarding output via HDMI on the 4k mini, can you do UHD? Or is it strictly 1080? I’ve been having issues viewing on a UHD monitor in UHD

I did the same thing with my Medialight D65 desk lamp and a product grade! The client brought in the product (a pill organizer package), and I was able to examine it underneath true D65 lighting to get an idea of the actual colors of the printing on the package. Very useful! Also use Nanlites occasionally on set, and they're quite good.

I wished that they would let us save the matte clip and then dump the resources. I agree it's gotten better in v18 but if you go to the edit page and do anything it is constantly recaching. In Photoshop there is a the ability to make a selection then click Refine and refine the selection - then when you're happy you can send it to a matte or a selection back in the layers. Freeing up the system resources. This is where Resolve could make this OFX better in my opinion. This is true with quite a few effects. I have the M1 Ultra Studio as well- love it.

I think that the rec709- that is discussed here is that the timeline is not where to apply the rec709-a - it needs to be added on the render page - which will just tag the video for Apple to read the tags for colorsync. The script for the stills is then not needed. Warren has the right approach using the Advanced section of the render. Google Chrome is colour managed - Firefox is not.

Sorry, I missed this live I can see that Rob Wanat when he finished talking was busy answering questions in the live chat. The question that I would like to know is related to the free calibration software. I just purchased the LG 42 inch C2 OLED and want to calibrate it, but Calman as you know, is windows only. So I was going to load a VM to run windows on my Mac - but is a bit of task setting up that then download Calman etc, So the question is - Will that calibration work with the home LG product like the OLED that I just purchased? If so is there a link to the site with the download? Thanks in advance. Enjoyed the topic and the session. Great information here. cheers
@tristansummers2 жыл бұрын
The calibration software is specific to certain monitors and not the consumer televisions. But there are free options from Light Ilusion or displlycal though i highly highly recommend getting a pro to do it as you can't really do it properly without thousands of pounds of equipment and years of experience.
@robwanat97082 жыл бұрын
As Tristan already mentioned, the LG Calibration Studio is only intended for the professional monitors.
@JimRobinson-colors2 жыл бұрын
@@robwanat9708 Yep, I get it. Just wishful thinking, I guess. Calman not being available on Mac is bit irritating for us. Thought maybe LG might want to have all the displays in the grading rooms to be accurate. If the client monitor is better than the colorists grading display, it wouldn't be long before the colorist might buy one of your pro panels. But it is what it is. Thanks for commenting
@jamesoreilley2557 Жыл бұрын
Jim, As of Dec 2022 the LG C2 42" does not have the internal pattern generator enabled which is required for the Calman Home for LG software. I was told by Portrait Display there will be an update in the near future. If you are using an intel Mac consider Bootcamp for installing Calman Home for LG to run on Windows as an alternative to VMWare Fusion. I also wish Calman would run on Mac OSX in addition to Windozes.
@SquareDealProd Жыл бұрын
I bought Calman. There are tons of available used Windows laptops at a low price to run the software. I am Mac but my friend who also colour corrects is Windows. I installed Calman on his machine and just borrow his when I need to calibrate.

Hy! I think i might solve your You tube HDR to SDR trim issue. The way I see it the problem is youtube forces you to use rec2020 tag. But if you limit your output gamout while gradeing to p3 and upload rec2020 for youtube than you get exactly what you looking for in pq 1000 nit p3.
