Very cool Pontaic Firbird. I sold my wide body 1970 Camaro about a year ago. I wish I would of kept it. It had a Richmond 6-speed as well. It had the wide fenders put on back in the Mid 1970s same fenders that were on the vintage IROC camaro race cars back in the day. Here is a video of it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYLae5qCqsqlhpI

What /displacement/size was the engine? Is that using a custom intake manifold or a standard Pontiac manifold?
@castleworksmotorsports46115 ай бұрын
This is a 455 but has been destroyed to 446 CID. The manifold is specifically for the DCI heads. The manifold has been upgraded to a custom 8 stack setup we make for both the stock Pontiac heads as well as these DCI Ram Air V heads.

My son invited to to a track day at RA this past Oct. 6-7. He has a bone stock ZL1 1LE, and that thing got around there pretty good. The brakes are amazing. Enjoyed the video, I'm a Pontiac fan down to my DNA. 👍👍🏁🏁

Man, I been racing Pontiacs since the mid 70s. RA5 is my dream engine. Nice work. My 1972 455HO is old school TRW L2394, pistons and General Kenetics can shaft, Torker1 850 hp series. carb. I just found my new favorite channel👍👍🏁🏁

I wonder.... In my 1972 spec Firebird T/A spec car, I have to adhere to the 5 liter limit. Meaning, I either have to de-stroke a 350 or 400 poncho, or start with a 301 from 1978 and work backward. I ended up going the 301 route and adapted a set of 1968 No. 16 heads, 12:1 pistons, and 6.125 rods with a solid cam of 270 duration and 110 center. Have these new RA5 heads overcome the shortcomings of the originals? (In other words, very, VERY lazy until 6k revs?)
