Hi Shaun, I just purchased one of these exact models in excellent condition. When I installed a new ribbon and began to type, I noticed that the ribbon lift isn’t moving like it’s supposed to. I tried to clean it very carefully and took apart the machine and attempted to troubleshoot what was going on with it. Do you know anything about ribbon lift issues on the Smith-Corona Corsair Deluxe? This is my first typewriter and I’m wanting to learn all I can to maintain it. Thanks for any input!
