Hello! I’m using a ComMarker B4 20W engraver with Lightburn, and recently I encountered a connection error while engraving in 3D on brass. The issue occurred while engraving a 3D relief pattern with the following settings: speed 6000, frequency 45kHz, power 90%, line spacing 0.0254, image mode set to 3D Sliced, and 150 passes. After about 6 hours of engraving, a connection error occurred. I paused for a while and resumed engraving, but the previously engraved pattern disappeared. Then, after about 1 hour, the connection error happened again. Is there any solution to this problem? And is there a way to resume the engraving from where it stopped? I would greatly appreciate your help in finding a solution. If you need further assistance with refining the details or want to send this in a specific context, feel free to ask!

Excellent presentation....I bought one and you are correct.. Awesome machine that is well built and competely functional. A tool not a toy. My only complaint is the lack of an eithernet or traditional printer port. It does have a SD card slot. That works but is a pain. This machine is designed for wifi and cell phones. I did not have internet in my shop and terrible cell phone service. You really need both. I finally had to break down and get internet and wifi in the shop. Adding insult to injury I'm cell phone challenged. Once I had wifi and cell phone hookup it's utility improvced dramaticlly. P.s. with PLA keep the door open. One con on my part....it's kinda loud with the door open.

Good points about the connectivity. I didn't think the printer noise was too bad but I had been using a very loud printer before so the sound coming from the X1C was an improvement :)

yeah they are really great for about 50 hours per hotend until they jam the heat break and they waste enormous amounts of filament by intent of design. no thanks

I've had one jam across my 4 machines, and it was cheap filament I picked up at a 3d Printing Festival. You either have a defective system, are using cheap or wet filament, or are printing in a dusty environment.

xtool f1 is very powerful but also too expensive. I found a substitute that might not be as fast at engraving, but the price is perfect for me. It can also cut a relatively large area, and since I want to use it indoors, a purifier is also important. So I plan to buy the acmer p3, and its price is very attractive to me. By the way, what aspects should I pay attention to when purchasing desktop laser engraving machine?

FYI.... With the later LB versions, 1.6.03, the program incorporates a "cleaning layer" which can be set to run after a specified number of regular burns. With my Commarker B4/30 watt laser, the main burn layer is set to 1500mm/sec, 90% power, 40kHz, .0254/1000DPI - the cleaning layer is set to 1500mm/sec, 40% power, 60kHz, .0254/1000DPI with it running after every 4, (select-able), main burn layers. This cleaning is necessary to ensure a smooth finish for the next series of the main burn runs. It gives a smoother surface to run subsequent burns and it helps produce much better results. ANOTHER FYI.... After buying/returning several brass coins due to a mis-represented diameter/thickness, I finally found that these>> ASIN B0CN32GG14 - they are a TRUE 40mm diameter and the advertised thickness-3mm- was measured at 2.97mm.... Same price, 21 bucks for 10 coins, so I bought three additional 10 packs, just to have on hand.... Now, back to burning 🙂

At about 5:00 , instead of selecting manually the parts of the image you want to "keep", draw a ~37mm circle-TOOL- layer around the coin and apply the tool layer as s mask. I've had great results using the mask mode in LB.... P.S. The brass coins I use have a 37mm "flat" inner surface that when framing is enabled, only the "GOOD" stuff is saved/burned. Centering the image with the "P" key and then centering the circular tool layer, with the "P" key, aligns both subjects. Then hit "Apply mask to image" and you're good to go...........

9 “I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire; 10 A fiery stream issued And came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, And the books were opened. 11 “I watched then because of the sound of the pompous words which the horn was speaking; I watched till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given to the burning flame. 12 As for the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time. 13 “I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. 14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7:9-14 10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (YHVH, El Shaddai, Adonai, God of Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham). John 3:10-18

Love your video, and as a first-time viewer, I subscribed! 👍 I have just a few questions. But, briefly, allow me to explain where I’m at. I've had two bad experiences with WeCreat. The first one had too many defective parts and poor support, not worth going over. The second WeCreat I just returned today. The most obvious issue is cutting or engraving accurately with WeCreat; it is way off unless your products are dead center of the laser. Even with camera calibration, WeCreat isn’t accurate whatsoever. They won’t acknowledge this as an issue due to the fisheye effect of the camera. Additionally, most KZbin Content Creators sponsored by WeCreat (99.9%) will not disclose the accuracy of the laser. So, I'm torn between xTool S1 40 watt and LaserMACTIC MK2 10/30 Watt. Non-sponsored reviews for the MK2 have been outstanding, with only one common issue across the board: the fan never shuts off when the power is on in non laser mode. However, every single aspect of the MK2 has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. As for the S1, a common con is XTool’s poorly rated support. My main goal using a laser is batch engraving or intricate artwork if I had the Conveyor. I was told the MK2 will have a pass-through, but not until sometime at the end of this year. If I go with the S1, how difficult is it to do batch engraving since there is no camera? If I have several pieces of keychains on the honeycomb tray, do I need to move the laser head to each piece for precise engraving during setup? Also, what is your opinion on the MK2? Thank you.

Man, I just got done dissecting a set of these, wiring up the motors to a standard standalone stepper driver, and through trial and error figuring out the settings, didn't realize someone else has already done similar with these Robo cylinder kits! I will definitely say either your voltage or current aren't right in that video as these things run much quieter and smoother when run correctly!

A few clarifications. The grayscale depth map gives you a possible 256 shades of gray. 3D slice mode assigns each shade a slice. Your image may or may not contain every shade, but generally speaking, cutting the number of passes down under 256 could result in you missing some "slices" which could affect your image quality. If you didn't want as deep an image, you could increase the speed or decrease the power instead of decreasing the passes. Increasing the passes beyond 256 means that some layers may be duplicated which will also increase your depth but may affect your image quality. Knowing the beam dot size of the lens you are using is also very important. Your beam dot size obviously affects your line interval. There are beam dot size calculators on the web. Lenses that can do large areas (150x150) also have a greater focus sweet spot for deeper images, but will produce less DPI because of their larger spot size, and will take longer removing material because of their decreased energy density. Lenses that have small (70x70) area will produce higher DPI with a smaller spot size, the smaller spot energy density is also more powerful and will remove material faster, however, the smaller line interval will take more time to engrave. There is always a series of practice runs necessary for every image, but you will get better at guestimating. You CAN do coin dies simply by mirroring the image and inverting the color. I have successfully made 2 sided penny restamping dies that work under a 20 ton Harbor Freight shop press.
