I get Petit trying to stand up for Arsenal but Carragher has a valid point ..we dont even need to buy players to play inbetween the lines ..its Artetas style of play ..playing round a block...Trossard is very capable and so is Odegaard..but the manager is risk averse and doesnt want the risk of counter attacks that come with this kind of football..under Wenger we used to play like this and create so many chances but we were so open at the back..we have the players to defend these risks but every manager has his own way of playing

The reason there’s hardly any players in the “pockets”is because they want to get it wide to win a corner from hitting the ball off an opposition players legs. Sam Alardyce and Moyes do this a lot.
