Had to circle back to this now that I've been on 31s with stock ECU/clutch for a short while. I don't see the need for new c.weights or short spring unless you want to peel out and race from dead stops. These aren't racing machines and we outgrew doing donuts back in our 20's. I can feel the added bulk of tire/rim upgrades so I will monitor belts more frequently.
@LetsGoBrandon_Ай бұрын
Our 2017 T4 LE just hit 7yrs old and 3500 miles on original stock Bighorn tires from the dealership.. amazing machine. The tires gave up the ghost in March and started going flat every 2 days so we added new 31" rock crawlers and suspension upgrades. Zero failures since purchase except 7yo tires.. lol. Went 2700mi on factory belt and changed it proactively. Belt still good so we kept it as a spare. If you haven't heard - don't buy aftermarket belts.. stay OEM. Adding a SATV split folding windshield absolutely extended our weather options and gave us 11mo out of the year riding. Your opinion of the '23 mirrors us on the '17. I can't part with it. Be safe!

For hill climb and tight enduro I preferring map one and “tc”, open terrain map 2. Exc 450

Yea that’s how I’m using it except I keep TC off for tight enduro unless it’s technical and the tires are struggling.

it will have a faster top end but not much, maybe 1mph. but speed limiter kicks on at 50mph, unless you have your ecu re flashed

I’ve got a deposit in on a ‘24 WR450F waiting on it to come in, but I noticed that a dealer a few hours away has sales going on this month on Husqvarna and I could get a ‘24 FE450 for the same price OTD as the Yamaha. Now I’m torn! Did you ever test ride a new WR for comparison with this?
@battlebornmotorsports84912 ай бұрын
No, I came off an 04 WR so I new it would be good with the new updates but you can’t deny getting a KTM or husky for the same price is a no brainer. It’s such a better bike than the WR. The only thing I like more about the Yamahas are that it has the app to adjust mapping instead of buying a new ECU. Other than that, KTM/husky every day of the week.

Hey quick question on spacers. Got a new 4s. Recently put 30x10x14 on oem wheels like you. My width in the rear measures 62”. Front is 64.5”. What size would you recommend. I’d like to get it similar on both ends. Also I haven’t cranked the front preload. Not sure if that affects the measurements. Thanks.

love this machine, i have the 2023 4S and yes its a bit loud and it does get warm on the driver side with the forward exhaust being close by. i have about 1200 miles on mine and i also did a few changes. 2in wheel spacers, 2 in lift kit for better clearance and also was able to put 30 inch tires on it. i will say that with the lift and larger tires its a way more comfortable ride. you should try it. also with gas mileage im averaging about 110-120 per tank. this engine loves the lower speeds and found that at 25MPH it gets the best mileage.

@@TJTodd604 this one was an 04, I have heard the newer ones are much more aggressive than the old carb’d ones. I have heard a new ECU works well to tame them down a bit but that’s as far as my knowledge goes with them. I’d love to get my hands on one but it’s just not in the cards.

I have been a big fan of these tires so far. They have worked great in every condition I’ve ran them in. The only terrain I haven’t taken them through is super thick mud. Great value for the money. The only dislike I have is that they aren’t true to size. My 30s run about 28 3/4”. Other than that they have been great and I have no regrets.
