bought this carb against my judgement to put on my 1641 and it keeps stalling when I get on the gas, eventually goes but hiccup kinda sucks anyone out there got ideas? running a Carter Electric pump first at 3.5, then turned up to 4.5 psi now seems slightly better. I did also reduce inlet to accept 1/4 fuel line as it was already present the whole way front to rear, would this cause hiccuping/stall issues? How does carb take only the fuel it needs from what is being pumped? Seems weird and I'm just trying to learn about what I got any suggestions lmk please, I just wanna drive it!! Also worth noting not running a vacuum advance distributor, just stock 009 with pertronix.

Dude, I have a 4x4 1500HD also (2003) and am doing the same swap to a 2500HD rear axle (I also have a 3500 rear axle, but will save that for another project). You're looking at the wrong towing capacity in your manual: you need to be looking at the 4wd ratings, not the 2wd ratings. The 4x4 trucks have more weight on the truck (on the front), so the CGVWR is lower. Also, you're ignoring the frame different between the 1500HD and the 2500HD trucks. The 2500HD is taller and stronger from the rear axle to the bumper. This makes a difference in towing capacity as well. You're not going to see 2500HD towing capability just by swapping the rear axle.
@squealthewheels30902 жыл бұрын
My exact model is not in the manual?I tried to match it up the best, wanted to show how the numbers change with the gear ratio.Im thinking the 1500hd frames are the same as 2500 none hd.l was prark next to one and they both have the neck down back half frame thing.my truck has lots of payload for my set up any way just wanted 4.10 for the hills.

@@squealthewheels3090 Yeah man, the 1500HD is identical to the 2500 non-HD. In the manual (2003 GMC Sierra, page 4-78) it's called the "K-2500 LD (4WD)" model.

Alot of work on a 4x4 going 3.73 - 4.10 with the tq and power engines in last 20 yrs produce gearing isnt really a issue with towing and racing these days Smaller tires would do the same but now look at my 03' F-350 psd has 3.73s with big 38''x13.5'' on 16s im at the limit for running tall 3.73s but if i did gear swap id go to 4.56 even though 4.30 would bring gearing back close to factory calibration and on my 99' ls1 6 speed camaro i ran several different gears on the track from 3.20 3,42 3.73 4.10 only difference was fuel economy, shifted slightly diff rpms and only gained 1/10th of a sec on my quarter mile times overall

I got the empi 38 kit as well on my built 1776 I had to jump up to 55 idle jets and go down from 145 mains to 135s, I was having the same issue wouldn't idle for crap and when I rev it up it wouldn't come back to idle it was getting too much fuel from the mains on top but not enough at idle. and would stall out, I might try some 137 mains to if it improves the throttle response.they say the kit is supposed to work for a 1641 with the jetting that comes stock but I don't think it's right atleast it wasn't for me even on a slightly bigger motor.

Nothing big as for in economy department.more like efficiency.3.73 with 295 tires is something like 3 to 4 inches taller thant stock.which is why i like 4.10s.untill i want to haul ass on freeway then it gets thirsty.

If the truck is stock start with,intake headers exhaust or handheld computer tuner. Once you go past that you reach a point of diminishing returns. You'll have to put bigger injectors once you start making more horsepower than factory settings.

There are different luxury vinyl planks with different pounds per square inch pressure resistance so some are wood composite with as little as 400 lbs of pressure resistance and some are commercial grade with concrete composite particles with like 2000 lb per square inch pressure resistance . When you buy LVP you not only have to look at the thickness and wear layer but also what the composite in the middle is made of . So you can get a 8mm thick 20 mil with wood composite and it will be more prone to dents from heavy furniture and dripping stuff than a 8mm thick 20 mil wear layer with concrete composite that will be more ridged and more than likely not get any dents from furniture and so on .
@squealthewheels30903 жыл бұрын
Thats the first I've heard of wood composite with vinyl planks.I would definitely not use vinyl planks with a wood composite in it.I can't remember the the hardness number.for me the test is rolling the refrigerator away from the wall. I just don't like it when sales people say that it's harder than wood. They can write any number on the side of the box. I've had real hardwood Oak break drill bits never have a broken drill bit with PVC.
