I've been watching your stream on YT for a week or so now. Generally good stuff, with a few observations: 1. Yes, when you switch from elite to specialized, it removes all equipment and consumables. Any previously mounted equipment while Elite will show up under In Another Configuration (meaning it was part of the plane when it was elite). I don't kow why they do that, but it's been that way as long as I've been playing (about 3 years or so) and it's a bit annoying. 2. That last battle was painful to watch. Light fighters are not intended as ground attack aircraft (I believe LF weapons are even nerfed against ground targets). You did 12 times as much ground damage as aerial damage (~12K vs ~1K). Blowing up ground targets is fun, but I recommend using ground attack aircraft for that, as you'll be much more successful with them than fighters. Light fighters primary role is to knock down other aircraft - either in capturing a sector or defending a sector. In the amount of time you spent over the plant at the start, you might have earned 25 or 75 capture points - you only get capture points for destroying all sections of a given ground target. In that same amount of time, you could have easily picked up 120 points or so shooting down ADA or red planes. 3. Once the plane is specialized, I recommend fully equipping it if you're going to fly it for a while, as the specialization opens up extra equipment slots. The other benefit of specialization is that equipment bonuses for Advanced and Ultimate equipment work (only Stock and Improved equipment can use the bonuses prior to specialization. Anyway, I look forward to seeing more of your content, and the above are merely observations and suggestions. Maybe we'll meet in the skies some day o7

Thanks! I try not to use fighters against ground targets, but will go after the AA guns to give our bombers a clearer shot if the defence aircraft are already gone. As for loading out the new slots, it seems to be a trade-off with manoeuvrability and damage. I'll often not make the jump to premium to remain a little more nondescript in the air. And maybe we will meet in-game sometime. I have limited time before work and often have other things on the weekends. But have noticed some names that pop up regularly. As long as everyone it having fun, it's all good!

Thanks! Yes, I had a couple old drives that are certainly questionable! I did get everything working in the end. In a later search I found that the cable for the drive wasn't seated properly on the motherboard! Ugh! You would have thought that I would have caught that on the first pass through! Oh well. :-)

I have it up and running now with a gtx 770 for some light gaming. I want to set up for gaming/streaming and see how well it responds. I also want to try some rendering, the dual cpu should handle it well.

The hdd probably works but you need a driver for the sata controller for it to se the drive in win 7

As it turned out, I had neglected to check the sata plugs on the bottom edge of the motherboard! One was off; guess which one? Yup. In the end, the one HDD drive was indeed dead though. I may try again in an external enclosure later, but I think it's gone for good. I did get the SSD to be seen eventually.

What about just using raspberry juice? Would that work for this kind of project?
@manusbrewer
@manusbrewer 4 жыл бұрын
You could use juice, but since most commercial juice extraction uses heat there would be every chance that your beverage will end up cloudy. This is only a minor visual problem and wouldn't have an effect on the taste, and if you had decided to drink it with the yeast still in suspension ("Mit hefe"), then it wouldn't matter at all! If you are make the juice yourself, then using the lower 60 deg C for 5 minutes to pasteurize followed by filter/pressing the juice out should work as well. For 1 litre of apple juice I wouldn't recommend more than 1/2 cup of berries to start. Raspberries have a very strong flavour and you might find it unpleasant once the sweetness has turned to alcohol. Like any art, try it and see what happens! If you don't like it, adjust and try again! Share with friends (2m apart, of course!) and get their opinions! Look for old brewing/wine-making books in used book sections and see what others have done before! Compare different book advice, talk to others who have tried a thing or two! Try different flavours and carbonation levels! (like a hint of raspberry for colour and a bunch of kiwi could make a nice one if it was fizzy!) Almost anything will work, and by trying you will learn, and the next time will be a new adventure!

So I'm looking over other game machine blogs and there is the option of turning the sunfire x2270 into a gaming rig as well/instead. It only has one pci slot for the graphics card or anything else, but has built in slots for four for conventional drives. I could also load all 12 dimm slots to get 96GB of ram. The PCIe slot is gen2 and with the current riser will only hold a half length 35W card, but that shouldn't be hard to overcome If I'm not worried about keeping it in the current rackmount case. Hmmmmm........ Did I just double my build?!?! Dang.......

Hey. :-) Patrick here; Cat sent me. If the PC has its original key code on the case somewhere, you may be able to go to Microsoft and upgrade from whatever OS it came with to Win10. Cheaper than buying it outright. Hopefully you can buy the upgrade, then download the OS, instead of downloading and installing an older system, *then* getting the upgrade. Steam supports Linux really nicely, so that could be another option. Not sure about other game companies though. I'm also not sure if NVIDIA's one of the Good Guys or one of the Bad Guys, wrt Linux and video drivers. BTW, for a second I thought you were going to turn the 1U server into a gaming rig... Which could be done, although it would be noisy. I've done my video editing on an HP ProLiant DL360 with 32GB memory [and that's only using half its slots], 1.3TB RAID array, two 3gHz quad-core Xeon processors [8 cores altogether], and an AMD Radeon R7 240 graphics card -- and in my `Lucifer' video, it shows. :-\ Notice the faint whisper of `Ain't No Rest for the Wicked', just before the real song starts? That's an accident, didn't hear it over the cooling fans. Takes a full minute for the hardware to wake up, but once it's ready to boot the OS, it only takes 15sec from bootloader to desktop. Also, it draws 300 watts idling, 420 watts if it's actually busy with something, 30 watts *turned off,* so I switch it off at the power supply after OS shutdown.

NVIDIA update; looks like they were one of the Bad Guys, but are trying to rehabilitate themselves. www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2019/12/06/nvidia-is-prepping-an-unexpected-surprise-for-linux-users-in-2020/

Hey Patrick! I tried that with the mini pc I picked up, the key code was rejected. I contacted asus (manufacturer) and the only option they gave was to ship the whole machine to them and back. With the shipping costs today, it wasn't worth it for a $10 computer. It looks like it had at least XP on it, but I could try that route again. I guess I had already dismissed it as an option because of my last experience! I need to watch that bias..... :-D
