Down picking is great! A solid technique needed for metal riffing. Alternate picking is also a solid technique needed to be a great metal player too. Love down picking and alternate picking but use them for different things.

They’ll ask you to play a specific scale or 2 in a Key or 2. You won’t be asked to played them all chromatically from G to B.

@@user-simon7 yeah there’s a lot of bends in this solo. Take your time and work on practicing your bends and pitching them correctly for at least 5 mins a day. After a couple of weeks you’ll notice your fingers are a lot more supple. Of course I can’t diagnose your technique unless I see you in a lesson but hopefully that advise helps.

Awesome! Glad you found it useful! I’m using my Axe Fx 2 in this (now got an Axe Fx 3). Think I used a BBE Pre Drive into a Friedman BE amp sim into a Mesa 4x12 cab sim and a delay and reverb pedal in the end. Pick up selector set to middle and neck split. Hope that helps!
