My Channel Lacks Originality that's a freeware addon called CrewChief, just google it it's very simple to use ;) In addition to the so called spotter calls you can get a lot of information about the rsce from your pit engineer. This includes opponent gaps, new personnal or overall fastest lap, your actual position in the race, weather information that is updated during the race (he informs you about air and track temperature changes, track conditions and overall weather conditions like a storm that is going to be there soon), specific information about track parts in particular (in my race you can sometimes hear that he says the name of certain track parts of the Circuit de la Sarthe and gives you a piece of information about something there), car damage, track cutting and invalid lap times, flags, remaining time/laps... and that's basically all I can think of now, so quite usefull tool actually :)
