What sweet neighbors! I wish mine were like that, but all I get is a noisy loud motorcycle that is getting revved each and every single day or evening by my next-door neighbor starting up his motorcycle engine on the darn thing that wakes up everyone in the neighborhood dogs included and my cats and dog and me and my aunt and my folks and it makes it hard for any of all of us to fall back to sleep my poor step-dad has been loosing sleep because of that motorcycle bikes motor engine noisy racket. The good news is that eventually, we'll all have had moved outta here and lived where there's no motorcycle bikes at all.

The first one is heartbreaking. I'm an introvert and don't like family drama, so I prefer to be alone on major holidays, but my heart aches for those who do want to be with family at those times, but are neglected by their relatives. 😟 The St. Bernard one is funny, but how did that big, heavy dog even get up there!? 😂 I don't often burn stuff, with one exception. For some reason, my grilled cheese sandwiches almost always came out carbonized style. Not wanting to waste food, I would scrape as much charcoal off as possible and eat the ruined sandwiches anyway. For a while, I switched to cold cheese sandwiches, but some years ago I upgraded to heating them up briefly in the microwave oven. Granted, they don't come out toasted, but at least they aren't burnt anymore either. Also, they have less calories because I don't put butter or margarine or oil on the bread when using the microwave oven. Regarding guest who bring nothing and take almost all of your fo9d home, and then don't invite you to their party: Well, now you know who to NEVER invite again, and who to NEVER visit on holidays again. These people are users and moochers, and they don't actually like you. Go low or no contact with these people. When they ask why, be blunt, because these kind of people need to be treated with bluntness. Tell them point blank: You didn't bring any foods of your own, stole MY Thanksgiving food, and then didn't even invite me to your Thanksgiving party, so you are no longer getting any holiday invitations from me!

I tried years ago to have a nice holiday dinner at my home. My immediate family all came over sloshed to the gills and high as a kite. Never again. They are all deceased now. I celebrate alone now.

I had to work on turkey day one year my husband said he would cook the turkey. When i got home the house stunk. I asked what happened, he said he stuffed it with rye bread. We had to through it out. Never use rye bread to stuff a turkey!!!

Some notes. Aluminum pans are great. No cleanup. BUT if you want it to work, you have to put a baking sheet under it and use that to take it in or out of the oven. The aluminum is too weak to support that kind of weight. Do not take a glass baking pan out of the oven and just put it on the counter, especially a wet counter. Even Pyrex can shatter because of the difference in temperature between the pan and the surface. Use some hot pads.

It's very subjective, in big cities, the street view camera cars come around way too often. I've seen 4 of my cars parked in various places, including my house. Pyrex is known to shatter and it’s heavy. Stoneware is heavy as well. Use steel/aluminium mix or aluminium bakeware and line with aluminium foil to avoid extreme dishwashing. I thought the pizza could be edible with a little creative fixing. But that’s me, ha.

You can cook a turkey frozen, it will thaw out in the oven.

I did that once. I dropped a chocolate bourbon pecan pie on the oven door. I scraped it back into the crust and baked it.
