@dalcassian8351Ай бұрын
@@danwoodvine5900 Hi Dan yes I bought it for £25 in a primary school. Higham Rochester Kent. I paid a guy £60 to help deliver it with his transit van. I didn't have a piano trolley but myself and s friend wheeled it across the school recreation ground slowly in its castors then manhandled it into the van 🤣 a few weeks later I had it tuned for £40 and have had it about ten years now. Funnily enough it was made in 1963 the year of my birth and apparently that's a great year 1960/85 for the manufacture of those types. It's got some sort of plaque saying the wood for the soundboard is from the same forest that stradivari violins were made. You probably know all this including Steinway and Knights were side by side in the Steinway hall

Do you ever use an iPad to read the sheet music?
@dalcassian835110 ай бұрын
Sometimes, I use the iPad 12.9" pro. It's great for getting a full A4 size sheet of music on. There are other accessories i could use like a stylus to mark different dynamics etc and a Bluetooth page turner but I doubt if I would use them that much

This pop song is exceptional, I like the song, and I lke how you play it. I like Dietmar Steinhauers scores too, because they are well siuted for beginners and intermediate. He shows his scores in youtube videos with his face inprinted in background, I guess his face is always on his scores, to make it easy for him to find an illegal copy ;-) I bought scores fom him, but noticed if I buy a dozen or more, it can get expensive. Good Idea to save money, by just making screenshots. So far no bot is able to find this kind of copy on youtube videos, But be aware, AI is getting better and better in face recognation ;-)
@dalcassian835110 ай бұрын
I agree in my area facial recognition is taking off and police arresting criminals. There is a channel called "Paul Wells" he plays a lovely arrangement of this. I tried to play it but couldn't really get the rhythm right. I probably could with more practice but I don't have the time

Thank you Sylvia I've tried to relax more as I read it helps a lot. of course there's lots of exercises and teaching on yt which is invaluable but it wasn't available when I started so it was all trial and error for years going down many blind alleys and time consuming not to mention bad ingrained habits which are difficult or nigh on impossible to get rid of 😮 Also not practicing anywhere near enough /erratic. And not concentrating on mistakes. Or Having a practice methodology. All wasting time. I do think back to when I started and wish I'd paid for a good teacher but none close by to me and with work /life etc getting in the way like most of us we never had the opportunity to really reach our full potential. Some seem to be just born fairly gifted already and have the ideal conditions for rapid progress. Never mind though I obviously still enjoy it 😂 Hope you are well 🎉

@@dalcassian8351 Work and life have prevented me from really getting into piano playing. I keep promising myself to get into it. It seems when I do find a moment to relax it's to listen to music. lol I'm an all-or-nothing kind of girl. So when I do get into it, I want to take lessons with a piano teacher. Can I ask you what version or piano music this "When You Wish Upon a Star" is from? I don't mean the actual composer but the composition or (gosh I forgot the word for it) the one who puts or wrote this particular version? Ugh.. Hopefully, you know what I mean. I want the exact piece! I'd love to play this someday! At least a few bars for now. lol 💖 Thank you. 🤗Huggs.
