I'm privileged to have known Nigel for over half a century....and his late father & mother, in fact his mother Nora is/was my youngest daughter's Godmother. A 'good ol' boy' if ever is Nigel & I fished/potted with him and his Pa. the legendary Maurice 'Bunny' Legge back in the early/mid seventies. We've shared many a laugh & a yarn together and may we do so again ere long! He's a multi talented 'original' is Nige.... SO amazingly photogenic and a thoroughly 'good egg'! Wish he'd write a book about all his past times.......I'd buy a copy instantly!!! So would many, including Hutley Winnan!!!!

I used to love the bog white daisy called the dog daisy. I still remember all the English flowers and the smells. The roses were exquisite. No one has commented after so long, I was talking to my son about my childhood, 70 odd yrs ago, the flowers were what I missed so much. ❤🌺🌻🌹🌸🏵🌾🌼🥀💐

I never knew there were so many varieties of Michaelmas Daisies. I allways enjoyed seeing them as a child in Lancashire UK, but here in Australia where I now live they are not the same, they don't smell the same and they have a different name. An old lady had a garden of them and mint, I can still smell the scent now in my mind. Your a very lucky man to see them all the time. ❤

I've watched this loads of times, it never fails to inspire me,, I've got a MM Ergonomic, which is a Mr Ablett design, and every time I look at it, I think of the history of the Sheffield men who made this country great.. RIP Mr Ablett,, 😍

I've just stumbled across this video & I can't believe I'm the first person to leave a comment - it's been up for 5 years! Nigel Legge is one of the nicest people you are ever likely to meet, and it was a treat to see a couple of videos on youtube featuring him. I've just watched a much more recent one but the comments were switched off, so I found this older one. It brought back wonderful memories of regular holidays in Cornwall with my wife. On one occasion we visited Cadgwith & had the pleasure of Nigel taking us out on his boat to lift some lobster pots. When we got back to shore, Nigel couldn't get the boat quite close enough to dry land, and he insisted on giving us both a piggy-back onto the beach so that we didn't get our feet wet - the man is a legend!

@Letterpress Collective I was one of the first workers with Padraig and his boat project. He always had so much interesting stuff to say. It was a different simpler time as you well know. I remember we regularly had interesting travellers like yourself who would come visit and work with us for short periods. Would be lovely to see some of the old times and places and faces.

My grandfather was from Westray - and I had a summer in Orkney in the 1970's visiting relatives Hewison and Drever's up at Brough. I took home a tiny chair in my suitcase. I loved it. My home burned down a few years ago and lost everything. I have been searching for one since then. I hope to try to make my own from Local Oat straw (I live in Southern Alberta Canada. I loved watching you work. I hope to find a book about this.

my neighbor is from England and she found out I liked traditional pocket knives so she offered to sell me hers. Its a Sheffield from Little Mesters. She has two pictures she took with a polaroid camera, one of the building and one of a gentleman making her knife. She said that the gentleman making her knife passed away while he was making her knife and that the gentlemans wife had to finish the knife for them. On the back of the picture the date is 1985.
