Turn off the radio. Press ptt on mike plus ch dwn scan and long press power on , wait for a long beep. Then you can change the mode .

I used to have one. Left it in my truck when I sold it. Looking to replace it.

I miss the old CB days. I was the Edsel because I drove an awesome Edsel obviously. There was a local club that would get drunk collect money and buy a bunch of groceries for locals having problems. I had a Navaho 23 ch. base radio at home.

There is maybe a jumper wire inside but you need schmatic

The reason you're not hearing anybody on SSB is because your radio is still on AM. Your frequency counter won't pick up anything when you're transmitting on SSB. You would need to put a constant tone into your microphone for it to work on SSB. You showed Channel 38 and Channel 40 while still on AM. Just thought I would try to help you out.

I wish you could have turned off the background music. I had trouble understanding you. I just bought a brand new TC-4002-PSW but I think the seller may have sent me a Gray-Market unit. All the labeling print appears inferior and it not only has a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack, came with a cheap pair of headphones. I should've suspected something was up because everyone else was selling this new for $250 or more but I bought mine new for $185. I'm going to try it and I'll find a way to test it for accuracy and inferior electronic components. The Dosy website manual doesn't show their 4002-PSW with a headphone jack. Rich PS Thanks for the video but background music is nothing more than an annoyance in videos of this kind. I suggest you drop that out of your future videos.

I just posted a vid of the old radio I got off eBay a few days ago. Gotta love the older radios.

Just found one at a garage sale, 20$, works perfect.. I always wanted this rig back in the day, but as a kid could not afford it. I had the trc-431, loved that too. I'm a ham now, but still love these old radio shack radios. I still use my dx-160 after all these years, I did recap it and align, but after all these years its one of my favs.
