Push fittings are only illegal if used for gas piping, they are perfectly fine for hot and cold water pipes.

You cannot simply pull out a properly installed speed fit push fitting. You have to depress the sealing ring and pull simultaneously. I’ve used them on owner fitted power showers for over 25 years with no leaks. Maybe I got lucky, but the fittings were faultless and outlived two shower mixer valves and three pumps.

Not a plumber but if you rest any two threads together, run them backwards asif you are usncrewing it with it already unscrewed. Somewhere along that anti clockwise turn it will jump onto the threads, you will feel it and then you can turn it clockwise and never thread anything again in your life. Works with any thread! Confused about the back and forth motion, looks like thatd cause threading?

Speedfit have clear instructions to tighten the nut to prevent the release collet from activating, had them for a decade or more. Speedfit, as shown is fully WRAS approved, so NOT ILLEGAL.

If you are paying a professuonal plumber, then no doubt you should be getting soldered pipework. But this is a far cry from your claim of illegal fittings. There is a reason why DIY shops are NOT being pulled into courts up and down the country.
