I'll never forget where I was the day she passed. I was asleep at my girlfriend's house and she came and woke me up early that morning. She was crying and as I was getting up/myself together, she said to me that Aaliyah died in a plane crash. Because I was still half sleep, it really didn't hit me and I halfway didn't believe it. I went to check the news and there it was, the headline and crash on TV. Aaliyah was born the same year as me, 1979, and I truly felt like I lost a close friend, a sister, a homie, etc. RIP to: Aaliyah, DMX, Kobe & Gigi, and Nipsey 🙏
