I think this is a really good analysis of Rorschach's character. I love Alan Moore's work, as no matter how many time i read it, i always find new clues and details about certain characters. So when it comes to Rorschach I'll say this, his world view and ideology is deeply flawed and ultimately shows that he's a hypocrite, and that he's lacking in self-awareness. Because of the trauma he experienced as a child, brought about by his mother, he chooses to see the world in black and white; that you are either good or bad and no in-between. This is why he sees dropping the bomb on Japan as a good thing because they were the enemy despite the fact it was almost entirely innocent people that were killed, but then he hates it when Ozymandias basically does the same thing for world peace. His far-right, nationalist mindset prevents him from seeing his own hypocrisy. You also see this same behavior when confronted with the fact that the Comedian tried to r*** the original silk spectre, labeling her as a whore, and still choosing to see the Comedian as a patriot. This parallels his own mother's and father's situation, where actively or not, he's choosing to believe in a more idolized version of events rather than the actual version of events.

This guy gets it! Yes.... he is very biased in his decision, much like you pointed out the similarity between dropping the bomb on Japan vs Ozy(Which i didnt even think of!). Defiantly he has hard time with this history between Eddie & Sally. I think this is in part because not only was Sally & Eddie's dynamic a bit askew, but also, if he admits the Comedian was in the wrong in that instance, that admission might challenge some foundations that his world view is based on. Thank you for your comment!

That's the interesting part about watchmen though, rorschach despite being a pretty deplorable human being is the only one of the characters who does what he does out of duty, a need, rather than to fulfill some desire, or for the fun of it. In a way he's the most honest of the cast, despite his hypocrisy and outright contradictions. But that's like saying a slightly pleasant turd in a pile of turds is suddenly a jewel, which it isn't.

First off, I loved your video! As someone whose Disney movie knowledge is limited to "Hakuna Matata" and whose alchemy experience is nonexistent, it was refreshing to learn something deep without feeling like I accidentally enrolled in a college course. Now, onto some feedback! Props for explaining “individuation” with a dictionary definition. You made it super accessible, which is a win for those of us who don’t casually throw Jungian terms into dinner conversations. Your tomato jar example explaining Marias quote? Brilliant. Relatable. It hit me right in the feels-and my pantry. The house, castle, and town section? Solid stuff, but the text overlay played hide-and-seek behind the graphic. That could use a little bit of polish maybe? Regarding audio, I did notice a little hiccup with it cutting out. It’s one of those small things that’s easy to fix and makes the whole experience smoother. One suggestion: your legend explaining the terms felt like I needed a legend for the legend. Maybe some PowerPoint slides would help? I’m one of those people who loves pausing videos to read charts and graphs. Don’t judge me; we exist. The chapter timestamps? Genius. A+ feature. All in all, your videos are a blast! Keep up the great work, and don’t forget to sprinkle in more tomato jar metaphors. They’re iconic.

Wow! Thats a lot of feedback. Thanks for taking the time to write that out. That amount of focus on my video was unexpected but really helps with future videos.

Cool video, I think it could’ve used maybe a bit more in depth analysis or summary of Dan as a character within the overall story. That could make it more friendly to a wider audience. Interested to see what you do next 😎
