Well, a wise man once said that rust never sleeps, so we're all the way here for the rust videos. 😁🖖

not terrible though, still well worth saving this one. Those front floors are actually still great by C900 standards! You will want to daily this if you get it back in nice shape, I'm sure. haha a previous repair? on that commander? it's factory sealing 4sur. I don't know what your financial situation is, but if you get a few million views on this video - you should consider a full engine rebuild with a Trionic5 kit, like from Modern Classic Saab. I haven't done it yet, but that would be dreamy. You can see it from your countryman, "living my boost life", he has a T5ed sedan driving around UK terrorizing people at stoplights. Making Teslas look soulless.

Great car, well worth saving Seppo.

The rust repair is satisfying on cars I know well, like this Saab, but it's also interesting to see your approach on cars less known. Plus this Saab is a rare special edition, so extra satisfying.

Might I ask what brand/model of rust converter you use and recommend? Anyone else have good experiences over long time with something?

Very Good. Enjoyed the rust repair which will help when I get stuck into restoring my 1993 900 Turbo, which is similarly rusty. More please. Cheers!

Nice work. Can’t recall any other vehicles off hand with brake lines passing within the body shell. Admittedly my familiarity with European manufacturers is limited. 👍🍀🍻

Hej!

Thank you! I've got one of these (not a Commander, just a lowly 900i 4 door saloon/sedan) on my driveway which is 'crispy' in the same places. I'm a complete novice and have been trying to work out how to tackle the rear wheelarch area. You've given me a lot of guidance. Now, just to sort out the weather...

Love watching rust repairs but it makes me feel guilty. I’ve got a wheelarch to repair on my Lancer but it’s cold out on my drive. Might have to wait a bit longer 😂

As a Saab 900OG fan I really like these rust repair videos! Sad that these days, especially in Europe, most of them are rusted, but man, does it feel good seeing one being appreciated and fixed!

Hello ! I've just started my very first rust repairs on my Volvo 340 project car. I must say it is really cool to watch your content because it focuses on doing it "good enough" without spending astronomous time and money on equipment. I hope you will show us more of the rust repairs soon :) Cheers !

Nice to see you are working on the Saab 900. But please put some primer on the backside of any repair panel before welding it on. Now there is nothing between those two panels in the floor. Just a tip 👍

A lovely little car, I had one from 1996 until 2001. Many lovely trips true Europe, including one to Naples which was a bit of challenge without an airco. Installed to Novitec kit, somewhere in 1998, not sure about the date to be fair. It was done by a company in Holland, including brake upgrade, new rims and sport exhaust. An absolute thrill in such a little and light car, I did surprise a lot of people at traffic lights and overtaking. I hope you still can find the kit, a few things you need to take into account, fuel consumption increased dramatically, tyre wear as well. A set of tires lasted me about 20 of 25.000 km. Special spark plugs, good oil are also essential. I had it serviced every 10.000 km, but on the good side, it never let my down, never broke down and like I said, an amazing thrill worth every penny... so just wondering if you found that kit in the meantime since you released your video. Have fun.

Keep going with the rust repairs.. It always takes time to get your hand back in with welding.. Always good to strip clean and reassemble the torch-tip and definitely make sure the feeding system wheel and tensioner inside the welder body is clean too.. Make sure you gently clean the inside of the earth clamp and get the earth as close as possible to the job.. The repair isn't the Mona Lisa but it looks really good and strong! Keep going looks much better already.

I´ve owned several 900 (5 in total) but this example is an outstanding rust-bucket! Reminds me of my 900i from 1980. The rust protection on the later models is far better.
