If you add an EGR blank, don't you get the engine light? Mine apparently has a bad EGR and it turned on.

Nope, no engine light experienced on either of the xtypes, both 2.0d

@@itsajaaaag Mine is 2.2, I don't know if it has anything to do with it, the error it tells me is that it has insufficient recirculation gas flow or something like that. That's why the question.😅

@@TiranosaurioRex you may need it mapping out or you may need the blank with the tiny hole to prevent the engine light.

Let me say first of all that's a brave move tackling the clutch on your own! Well done it's a job to get more than 65 - 70K out of one, they tend to fall apart as your driving, I had the same issue at 70K. it's normally injectors and cam belt with new bottom pulley next. The turbo's go on quite well on them. Keep it going we Like the channel and of course X types. 👍
@someguy87228 күн бұрын
Nice X type you got there, i bought one from 2003 and it's a sweet car to drive. Even though it's done over 30000km it still lives.

Ok if you look in the front arches either driver side or passenger side after removing the arch cover you will come accross a rubber bung, now that rubber is useless as it traps all the water and leaves, hence i removed it and you see all the crap and mud come out.

18" alloys are either Aruba , Valencia, Proteus or Melbourne. The standard Aruba's are quite fragile to potholes so go for the performance drop forged ones off the later cars. Can't help feeling what a nice car but needs the 2.2 in it with the 6spd box.

Depends if you are capable of doing the work yourself, if not then i understand. I've spent about £2k in 6 years of ownership, i'll take that over depreciation of a newer car.

Remember your as well to do the dmf if your going to the extremes of a clutch. Did my 2 litre d and its really driving like new...From my experience, the Jerky acceleration was a turbo boost pipe split, however I have put all new filters and ran wynns diesel injector cleaner through several tanks. She runs like new, no smoke pulls like a train. These 2 litre turbos are immensely torquey....looks great 👍

I am saddened to see you it go. I have been following your video for a long while now, . however that is the problem with these cars,. they have so many common problems I have mine 5_years and changed all the same things you have, starter, injectors, brake cable, Belts, alternator, water pump. door handles etc. only got it back last week from Ford expert who looked at the wiring for me. I know the shocks, bushings and other rubber is starting to perish, I am afraid to check the sills So do I put more time/money/effort and "off road time" into keeping it,, or let it fly as beautiful as the x-type looks ,, it does not drive like a 2018 Merc C class :(

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I had another look, but I don’t think the headlight washers are connected. The cruciform the cover connects to looks like it’s been bodged. So I’ll have to find a replacement cover… and just stick it in place @itsajaaaag @@itsajaaaag
