"With the right speakers any kind of music is no problem" - That's true, but for this particular track there are no right speakers, sorry. Or maybe the speakers are right, but not the amp? Bass is light, not deep and without impact. Real track sounds way better, as I have suspected. The solid and layers-separated sound of the track is not at all represented in your record.

I've watched these demos over and over again! Would you prefer this setup of 8" baffles & 15" Sub or your ZF15M? Trying to figure out which way to go and need a push in one direction! Thanks.

Either approach is equally good. The only real noticeable difference you would hear is the ZF15M would have tighter bass and be simpler without a subwoofer. However if your room is terrible (bright) then having a sub that you can turn up louder to compensate for the peaky room response may make everything more balanced sounding and fuller.

I just got my new set of 4 cryotone tubes. I was immediately surprised at how much cooler these tubes were than the original Decware ones. In SW Florida we will take all the cool we can get!

Does this cartridge “decode” stereo via MID/SIDE channels, then construct LEFT by adding the channels and RIGHT by subtract them?

No, the London Decca phono cartridge does not use a mid/side (M/S) approach to decode stereo. The M/S technique involves encoding audio in a way that separates the mid (sum of left and right) and side (difference between left and right) channels and then reconstructing the left and right channels by adding and subtracting these signals. Instead, the London Decca cartridge directly decodes the left and right channels from the groove modulations.

@@decwareproducts Sorry to belabor this… I thought I had seen drawings/diagrams of London Decca cartridges that showed the coil geometry is not the typical 45º/45º arrangement (which, leaving room to be wrong, I think is necessary for direct L/R decoding). Is it possible that this M/S → L/R “arithmetic” is happening in the cartridge, transparently to all the downstream gear? Thanks.

Call me crazy but I think at this point the RCAs are more natural sounding whereas the cryotone tubes are more crisp sounding. I don’t think I’d go wrong with either.😊
