I was just watching this and my son asked me to pause it so he could run to the bathroom. I told him "sure, but you don't have to watch if you don't want to. He said, "I want to! I want to follow Jesus better!" Thanks for helping us both follow the King today!

Fantastic video. Thank you. I was a bit concerned, having read the Bible several times, to have never come across the doctrine of "vision casting." But after watching this video, I'm convinced it's SO important. I'm just surprised that in 2000 years of Christian history, nobody talked about "vision casting" before.

Neat love story and exciting way how God orchestrated His plan for you both, Chuck and Deb. Thanks for sharing! Great advise for many, too.

hey chuck, thanks for posting this. 2 questions: 1) did you change the "past, present, future" terminology to look back, look up, look forward? 2) did you change vision casting from the future/look forward part to the look back/past section? If so, out of curiousity, why?

Most of you guys suggested that there is nothing inherently wrong with the "traditional" church method/expression. With that in mind, let's suppose that the traditional church method is more effective today in making disciples than your new approach. Would you then use the traditional church method to make disciples since it's just another expression and more effective? Or would you stick with the new less effective way? Is it about methodological effectiveness or about methodological orthodoxy?

Neil Thanks for the comment. The guy I discipled over the last year got this! I would continually remind him of Isa 30.20-21 when others would tell him he needed 6-8 years of training under me. Funny thing is his confidence is through the rough in what Jesus can do in his life and he actually believes as a 1 year old disciple that he can have his own ministry in Salt Lake City under the command of the Lord Jesus. Pretty cool to see a young guy with that much faith in his King.

WOW! How freeing for us as laborers to remember that the kingdom of God is has self correcting elements- I think I've spent way too much time trying to correct others when all I needed to do was to talk about Jesus, get into the word with them, pray for and with them, and encourage them to listen to the Holy Spirit.

Great challenge and encouragement. Thanks for sharing, Chuck. Interesting to think that he'd support OUR work when normally we think about us trying to support his work but really God doesn't need our help to accomplish his work he only loves us enough to make us a part of it. This really encourages me to be more proactive in taking initiative to start and sustain work in people's lives.
