Nice as always to see Mike making the rounds. I noticed him taking a look at a birdhouse in this Mosey (unless it was the July Mosey which I watched sequentially), and wondered if other bird habitats at The Clearning might be a subject for a future mosey.

The Door County sky in the background looks bee-utiful. I certainly hope that Mike can continue these moseys when he becomes ED Emeritus. Congratulations on the upcoming retirement!

Thanks again Mike for one of your informative walks. I wish you would continue to do these after retirement! Maybe once a month?😊

Thank you Mike; I love the updates and the Latin naming review too. I found that one challenge in retirement after a long career dedicated to a place and its people is, changing my perspective and comments from "we..." to "they..." You'll be fine - Cindy and retirement will welcome you with a big smile and open arms (and maybe holding a beverage and a garden tool also).

I love the entrance road into The Clearing--it feels like you're driving miles into the woods. Like Mike, I was surprised to learn that The Clearing is less than a quarter of a square mile. It sure doesn't feel like it. I have underutilized the trails over 30 or so years, but this summer, I think I'm going to do some exploring.

I need to watch it again and take notes! I have cedars on my property but I will have to go out and look at them. Are there other kinds of cedars in northeast Wisconsin? I'm also going to check my pines and there is no doubt I've got hemlocks! Thanks so much! I found this month to be a fascinating Morning Mosey.

Thank you for your color commentary - beautiful and most informative. I am surmising that the Clearing has no American Larch (Larix Laricana) because they are spectacular in the fall too.

Wonderful stuff. I gotta do some more walking this summer. With these Moseys, I'd find it helpful for a brief shot of The Clearing map for each stop, showing us right where Mike is. Interesting background music as always--bravo Erik!
