I've not been in a relationship by choice for 4 years now, and am unlikely to go back. I've no problem socialising with my friends and their gf's down the pub, or convos with holiday guests (at their invitation) around the campfire, or with the regular two person TV filming team who come to record my work, or shoppers in my town who ask about my motorbike, or the ladies serving at the local biker café. Seriously, how much interaction do I need before I retire to the peace of my inner sanctum for the evening? With a woman in tow, the 'tingles' for her always fade no-matter what I do and she'll make my life hell until she finds the next toe curler.

I hate my life. I’m 36 and have been single since I was 22. I’m unemployed, live with my parents, and I just moved to a new state, so I know no one here. I’m so fucking lonely and tired of being alone and sexless

I’d also like to add that it’s also dangerous for someone who has never been single. My older brother was in and out of relationships for nearly two decades to where when he finally was single he was a mess.

I've been single throughout my life, I was the ugly kid at school, bullied and disliked, as I got older, still ugly, short, invisible to women, i had a few very short term relationships, the longest relationship lasted 28 days, I think that I would be exaggerating if I said that I have been in relationships for a total of three months throughout my life, my last relationship ended in 1991, I don't want or need to be in a relationship to be content with my life, I have worked in various different places, i own my own house which is just big enough for me, I ride a motorbike, drive a small car, all bought and paid for outright, I work out when I can, I travel when I can afford it, I live what many would see as a boring life but it suits me, being truthful, I don't think that I would know what to do now, I've been on my own for so long, I don't think I will ever be in a position to be in a relationship this late on in my life

There is no need for socialisation if you work, going to make haircut or going to gym. Everywere you can show your attitude and have a small talk. Be yourself. Connect with only people you want. You have absolute self completeness.

I have been single for 20 years and to be honest. I would rather be alone than in a toxic and hateful relationship. I love myself for who I am and nothing else matters.

I do believe that it is possible to be single for too long--and that many people are in denial of this fact. The truth is that marriage at 20 or 30 is very different from marriage much later in life. People don't want to talk about this. But I believe that our Victorian forbearers were much more honest in this area than we are. Especially for women. They quite frankly acknowledged that there was a "sell-by" date for women when it came to marriage and they did not hold out false hope that if a woman wasn't married by the time she turned 25 that she would eventually marry. They were also much more honest about what constituted a marriageable woman or man and what kinds of behaviors or traits would disqualify someone. For example, women who were considered "bluestockings"--intellectual, well-read, well-educated--could look forward to a life of involuntary spinsterhood. Because those traits were not sought after by the average man in looking for a wife. I'm not saying we should go back to that kind of thinking, only that they were in some ways much more realistic. What nobody tells you about marrying later in life is that by that time neither one of you is a blank slate. Even if you yourself have never married, chances are the other person has been, and maybe even more than once! So there may be baggage in the form of exes, children, grandchildren that someone marrying in their 20's does not have to deal with. There may also be elderly parents in the picture that require a lot of care. Both of you may own your own homes and be otherwise established financially so there is that to consider. Not to mention the fact that you can end up being penalized by Social Security (if you live in the US). It's much, much, much more complicated than marrying in your twenties. If you are used to being independent and doing things on your own, all of a sudden now you have to take another person's wants and needs into consideration, and that can be very hard. If you have a age/mobility mismatch, that can also create stress. And there may be sexual issues to deal with as well. I really think it is better to marry at a younger age when you are much more resilient.

I am 64 and have been divorced and had a few brief, but fulfilling relationships afterwards. I have been single for about 8 years now. I have found there is great value in having peace in your life vs. happiness all the time. I have just about everything I wanted to achieve professionally and financially, but I do still challenge myself. I wish I could find a good woman now, but I feel that ship has sailed for me.

i've been in relationship with this girl for almost 4 years (turned into a long distance one in the last year) and we just brokeup like 5 days ago becuz she didnt want me anymore becuz of the distance our feelings for each other kinda deminished ...but i still did try to keep her into the relationship trying to convince her we can still make it (which i shouldnt have and i regret doing it)... and she was determined to breakup nevertheless... the thing is i am having a wave of different emotions sometimes i feel good and happy about the breakup and free and the very next moment i miss her and wanna get back but i do know breaking up was the best thing we could do... now i dont know how to get over the relationship i hope i get over it soon.

14 years here. Dealt with a couple of them during this time, both cheated on me, one banged my former friend. They are absolute filth. I LOVE BEING SINGLE AND A LONE WOLF WITH MY GAMING PC SETUP AND MY GUITAR. THEY CAN GO F THEMSELVES. ALL HAIL PANTERA AND LED ZEPPELIN. Best of luck to my beloved daughter who was taken from me, just like all my friends whos children were taken from them too by the SOOOOOOOROSSS paid divorce courts.

The only danger is weak males who don’t have knowledge of themselves to be alone. I think ppl talk a good game on them wanting to be single, and hey, that’s great. But are you lying to me or yourself? So many people try to fear porn you into being in a relationship it’s ridiculous

I try some dating systems but it’s a lot of energy and toxic. I meet a girl at work where I have feelings for but turn out she’s lesbian and only care about money and from outside my country. I missing to have a real sexual relationship but all the energy from the feminist women know these days it’s difficult to find a decent and normal thinking women where you can build a future on it
