A cozy manga series I like is Giant Spider & Me, short and cozy post-apocalyptic series focused on food and found family. I read it right after being disappointed by Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea, and it really impressed me.

Now it makes sense why 2024 felt a bit quiet and weak in terms of new releases, they were all being saved to be blasted at us in 2025... my poor TBR, this is gonna be WILD hahahah. I somehow had no idea we were getting a new standalone War for the Rose Throne book, HECK YES!! Aside from that, I think I am most looking forward to The Devils, Of Empires and Dust, Dance of Shadows and Red God. Also, for the love of all that is holy... please let Alecto the Ninth come out already 🥲🤣

i prefer modern fantasy with political intrigues like farseer, game of thrones the reason why narnia and lotr was memorable for me was because the i watched the movies which were epic. otherwise i would not have felt like reading the books. the music from the movies made me feel it when i would pick up the lotr books. narnia is fine but the plots and characters not memorable but theyre not intriguing. i remebred trying to read the lotr book in 2002 but i said that i preferred movies if i had taken asoif in 2000, i wouldve seriously gotten into reading. just my preference i forcibly read farseer but within the first 50 pages, i was immediately like obssessed with reading. it was so escaping, the characters were still in my head. imagin if they made the movie with the right directors, just like they did with game of thrones they showed flawed human nature like r**e, jealousy, the complexity in so called godly figures like mother father, kings and evil ones but i heard about new epic ones like bound and broken; faithful and fallen... may pick them up

Is Bound and the Broken worth continuing? I couldn’t get into the author’s voice and found him to be really redundant, reusing the same metaphors and phrases many many times through out the book. I need a hyperbolic time chamber just to read.
