Ok so got mine installed today. Couldn't get the thing to work even in the place of learning. It's not easy once you have the hum n blow down pat then you have many more issues. Rolling test is not just dangerous but worst than driving drunk. Looking into camera while driving at 100 k n hour with no where to pull over on a main highway, it's like using a phone while driving. I would recommend anyone not to go through start smart. And go through somewhere where you just blow. Not him n blow. High pitch humb works better than a low hum. Good luck everyone. The same thing happened to me . I'm 67 years old and almost past out from blowing too much and you get a violation if you blow more than twenty blows . it turn out that the mouth price was in the wrong position . it won't matter what you say even when no alcohol is detected. You get locked out. And have to pay for any reason. Its a Cash cow for the DMV . it is what it is .

Ive never failed a single test with that system, yet I've seen my friend with this system fail time and time again due to "failure to hum" and "stop tampering with system" type messages. Ok so I’ve watched every video possible and no where have I seen that you have to blow again when you cut car off and exit the car! Well mine does and no one told me it would do that so I’ve had two violations in less than a month! Very upset! Client portal says I owe $33 and some change no it was $79.99 plus tax! First violation was only $35! I have asthma and sometimes I have a hard blowing for 8 seconds and it’s supposed to give abort message blow longer mine will just give a missed test violation! Service technicians were no help at all today except I can dispute it! Can anyone help please? I utilized SmartStart here in Wisconsin. It is a franchise operation in this state. I do not know who they pay off here to remain on the approved list but it must be someone high up. Customer service is useless, tech support is useless, the programming of the units requires a person to provide a sample while driving. The state guidelines require a 5 minute window to provide the opportunity to test at least 3 times. This is to allow time to safely pull over. SmartStart divides the 5 minutes into 1:40 time sections to sample, there by forcing a driver to test while driving creating a potentially hazardous situation, they argue they are correct. Even a tamper proof sticker on the unit is the wrong color. They are good at one thing collecting fees.

Receive use instructions my "6". Ended up being locked out b/c I didn't "test" while driving which I was unaware was a requirement!. Called the 800 number, explained the situation the (courteous) CSR got me up & running and advised me to return to the installation center (CUSTOM RADIO, DEPEW NY) to get a replacement head free of charge. However the installation center (CUSTOM RADIO, DEPEW NY) charged me $75 (due to the inadvertent lockout) anyway WHICH I am disputing. Will post again whether or not that charge is (rightfully) applied to my account
