That's awesome, you guys need to really improve that airport, connecting Champaign to Chicago more frequently at the very least. If you want to attract top talent and provide better experiences, this is what matters. Infrastructure matters. Another shiny new building doesn't make a difference in this online era.

UIUC CS is being held back as the city of Champaign never bothered to make the local airport upgrade a priority. It's not connected to Silicon Valley, Austin or New York.

Wow! I'm impressed by all the student resources offered, and seriously proud of my former colleagues in the Grainger Engineering Undergraduate Programs Office and the college's departments. Grainger Engineering has fantastic students, and the college makes a big investment in them, and their success. Well done!

do you think that if a sophomore starts Coursera computer courses and starts college algebra now, has a chance of getting accepted into the CS+Advertising or CS+Philosophy Programs? For highschool the highest math class will be Pre-Calc in Senior year, I’m taking Geometry this year. I saw the major requirements for all the classes I’ll have to take and I feel like it’ll be too advanced for me, especially because of how everyone always says these classes are full of people that’s done programming and advanced math since middle school. Just interested

I’m at Illinois rn in cs + Econ . I think th e biggest thing you can do is make sure you get a competitive gpa in high school along with doing the early access admissions process. If you can know exactly what you want to do you should most definitely apply yourself and work towards it

Also try to be very involved in at least one club that gives you reasonable experience in volunteering and make sure you have at least one project that you can say you have worked on that involves a programming language

The gamer thank you for replying! My classes right now for sophomore year involve no AP classes giving me a cumulative gpa of 4.0. I’ve heard that colleges focus on junior year the most, was that true for you? I hope to have a more competitive gpa next year because I’ll get to take AP classes. Is it better to just do school clubs or could outward places for volunteer work be okay too, also online opportunities. Would you recommend me to do early admissions junior year? Sorry for all the questions, just curious.

just code cool things. If they accept you, great. If not, you'll have learned what most don't get and will never get, which is the ability and curiosity to build cool things because you want. By the way, this is also how you learn faster, not with courses.
