I think everyone seems to have many ideas even though they themselves never wrote or produced a play. I really liked this movie, plus in the original it was hard to tell what the plot was. Cats just started singing out of nowhere. Here at least we understand where Victoria came from and that she helped Gabriella overcome her fear which led to her being picked to go to the Heavyside layer.

That song she's singing fits me purrfectly , All that I wanted was to be wanted but I'm not. I'm a square peg in a world of round holes, I don't fit in anywhere 😢. As that song goes in Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, I'm nothing but a misfit. I just feel like I don't belong anywhere 😢. I've tried to fit in but I don't. I'm not trying to put anyone down but, I can't seem to find anyone to talk to on my level, I'm to damned smart to fit in with people who I've referred to as regular people. I keep getting knowledge from something or someone that I don't want. I keep questioning, why me and what am I supposed to do with it, it must be for some reason, but the answer eludes me.

1. sounds way worse then the original 2. the writers didn't even understand the play in the fist place. Or how do you explain the other characters TOUCHING her before the song ends?

Just in case people forgot how bad this movie was: The ONLY plot in the musical is that Grizabella had a fall from grace and she doesn't want what all the other cats want, she just wants to be touched by them, and at the end she sings her heart out, is accepted by the other cats, and also gets the thing that the other cats all want. Happy ending... Not only did they decide to have Grizabella, the cat that only wants to be touched, pull away from Victoria trying to touch her. They also made a brand new song that follows Memory, ya know the song about how Grizabella is just left with memories and now she's losing those too and is begging for someone to reach out and touch her and that would make her happy, and that new song just says "Stop complaining, at least you have those memories!" The movie just completely undermines the point of the original production... Don't ever give anyone props or congratulate them for this movie
