There’s some great information offered here but the language barrier is too much for me to over come.
@sailorstube3259
@sailorstube3259 27 күн бұрын
Kindly advise what kind of language difficulty you are facing? Is it beacuse of English? You find it diffcult to undetsand the accent which is typical Indian English. However same is supplemented with the presentation to ease of language barrier unless you need some other language.

You are correct in that the video should assist with comprehension. But in my case that was not an option. I was driving and listening to the video, not being able to actually watch it. It’s the “Indian English” that I have difficulty understanding. The narrator does an acceptable with his presentation and English vocabulary. For me it’s the accent. And me being from backwoods Tennessee I have not been exposed to that accent other than the random telemarketer phone call.

At 26:20 Vertical distance should be 3m , you illustrated wrongly
@sailorstube3259
@sailorstube3259 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for pointing out the error. Here d will be distance shfited i.e kg1- kg 2. Thus kg1= 6 m and kg 2= 3 m, thus d= 3 m vertically down if 2/3rd of weight is shifted down.

you suddenly change the topic and start talking about g1 however g is not change in vessel unless you shift the cargo. ıf you put g1 you must explain why the point of g is changed as g1 did you shift some weight?

Sir, there is a little confusion in the action for standon vessel, As per some surveyors and cockroft explanation. We are instructed to avoid crossing to port only if 17 a(ii) applies but as per 17(b) there is no such restriction so alteration of course to port will be more suitable in close quarter situation. This ques is one of the issue .
@sailorstube3259
@sailorstube3259 4 ай бұрын
Can you recall four satges of collision in case of crossing situation in sight of one another. SATGE -1 At long distance, both vessels are free to take any action before ROC SATGE -2 When ROC begins to apply, Give way vessel to take early and substanital action, avoid crossing ahead & pass at safe distance. Stand-on vessel is required to maintain course and speed. STAGE -3 When it becomes apparent that give way vessel is not taking action, stand on vessel is required to take action by drawing attention: 5 or more short rapid blasts and Aldis lamp in the night. Here as per 17 C, stand on vessel is not required to a/c to port as give vessel is still obliged to follow rules and if in the last minute the give vessel a/c to starboard, and you as stand on a/c to port, both vessel will be turning in to each other resulating in sure shot collision. STAGE-4 When it is too late to avoid collision by give vessel alone, stand on vessel is required to take such action which will best aid to avoid collsion. This action does not specify what to do. Only parameter is that get away from danger if possible by whatever you are suppose to do. There will be lots of variables like ships manuverability, sea state, traffic density, shallow water etc , so it is left to the professional judgement of master at that moment, do what ever you can do to avoid collsion or worst is to reduce impact or minimze damage by saving accomodation, engine and lifeboat. Hope this has answerd your doubt. If you still have doubt, you can write an email or respond here. Can plan to have a video on this. COLREGs do not specify ranges as that will depend on type and speed of the specific ship along with other factors such as sea state and traffic density.

I dont know about his 3rd method but final answer is 74. I will explain. 1. Arrange the carpet rolls in athwartship in any of the side in two tiers. ( So 15x2=30 Nos) 2. Now breadth remaining is 6m only. In fwd & aft arrangement we can fit 7 carpet rolls in 6 metres & 3 in each line. 3. So 7x3 in fwd & aft arrangement gives 21 in one tier. Both tier gives 42 in total. 4. So now 30+42=72. 5. Now we have 1 m space left with a width of 6m and height of 1.743m We can easily fit 2 nos in athwartship in two tiers.
